Yup!!!! Nick Rolls,my favorite player, was a real, class act. Great guy on and off the ice.Ward Smith and Nick Rolls were studs. That 08-09 Plattsburgh team was so loaded.
Plattsburgh offers songwriter, minor league coach and all-around good guy "Disco Dan" Marshall ('84-88). Marshall is the Cards all-time leader in games played (151), which will never be broken. He also accumulated over 100 points and 200 penalty minutes. Backing him up will be the rugged Dylan Clarke (07-11) one of the better Card forwards in the last 10 years. Clarke played so much bigger than his 175 lbs and was first or second on the team in scoring all four years. He also landed on the All-Sunyac team all four years.

Dan Marshall could do the best impression of Coach Emery. Had it down pat especially with that Boston accent he had. Remember the night we were all at the Holiday Inn bar after defeating RIT for the championship in 2002 and Marshall did his best ever. ...#23 Dennie Poulin hands down !! The not so gentle giant (6'4" 235lbs) terrorized DII hockey from '78-82 and had a remarkable scoring touch. His first two years he played for Bill Beaney at New England College before transferring to PLattsburgh. As a Card, he logged over 300 penalty minutes and scored 90 points as a senior !!! I don't have PIM totals from NEC, but I'd bet he's the all-time Penalty king. Signed by the Bruins after college and played at Baltimore in the AHL. People still talk about him around here.
1982 -- Plattsburgh State hockey star, Dennie Poulin raps 4 homers, including a grand slam, to lead Lucas Body Shop to a 16-6 win over the Press-Republican in Gentlemen’s Slo-Pitch softball
Snell yes !! Good one. If we used Joey Ferras as #23, there's your winner ! But I think he only used that # for his freshman year before switching to #77. Snell was legit, big-time player.
