24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

Re: 24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

I'll spoilerize this for those who don't watch the previews, but next week

Stringing Jack up and torturing him with the battery cables/electric shock/whatever, isn't that how they killed him back in season waht, 2? We're recycling bits now?

Also, how did the Russian guys know where Vladimir was hiding out? If his location was so well known, why did they need Renee to go undecover and hook up with one of his old gang in order to track him down? They could have just looked him up in the yellow pages.

When she stabbed Jack in the stomach, I thought, "Great. Now they are going to play out Jack bleeding to death for a few hours while the story slowly ticks along for a few boring episodes."

Nope, Jack decides a knife to the gut is no biggie. Throws some gauze and tape over it, all the while consoling Renee and coming up with a cover story to keep her out of trouble.

JFC. This show is so ridiculous. But I keep watching like a nice little lemming.
dont we all? :(

Nope, the bite to the juggular in season 6 is stil the tops.

Also highly awesome.

I don't know though, throwing a perfect strike with a knife to the throat? That's phenomenal. I also enjoyed the fire axe to the heart earlier this year. :D

good lord they really have jumped the shark.

how did hastings know she had sex with vladdy if she broke her comm piece?

no. bobby knight was talking about the sex she had with him 6 years ago. "might as well lay back and enjoy it"

Fans of terrible television might have recognized Callum Keith Rennie, who in addition to playing Vladimir and getting stabbed in the eye, also played the deranged killer John Wakefield on Harper's Island from CBS last Spring.

I recognized from the woefully underrated series Due South, personally.

Yep. Been one of my favorite actors ever since.

He and Katie Sackoff must have been having BSG old home week on the set while they were filming.

it feels like labor to watch. actual work... though i keep doing so.

Re: 24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

And it is probably the most awkward, forced romantic subplot I've ever seen. They should just stick to him banging bad guys' heads together.

No posts for a while. The show was kinda draggy but it really picked up this episode. I thought that bomb would take out the parole officer guy. Great ending.

So, when the show was set in LA, was the geography as implausible as it is this season?

It was just as impossible in DC last year. Being factual in unnecessary.

Last week's episode was solid. I mean, hey, when a guy gets blow'd up real good that's awesome, right?

Solid mid-way point episode tonight but they've got an uphill climb to go from here still. Dana Walsh needs to be exploded or hit with a fire axe next. What an awful character.

The parole officer from Butcrak, Arkansas that just happens to have a buddy with the NYPD.

Uh huh!

Re: 24 - Day 8 - Jack Bauer Takes on NYC

Jack has had to dive away from two explsions in two hours.
I see no effects from the upper body injury suffered a couple of hours ago.
The guy is a walking miracle.
