One week until the PWHL draft - who goes in the top ten, and more specifically in what order?
I read somewhere that Edwards declared for the draft as a defender.I sure hope whoever drafts Edwards keeps her at F. I would move Eden up that list. Her intangibles are through the roof, not to mention she can score.
Wow, how stupid was that? They're going to eat her alive. She did…. Ridiculous.
Taking her at projected 3 is also ridiculous.
Of course the media circus and instant hype would help any team that makes the mistake.
And Likely (reported?) Las Vegas/Detroit Knight deal gives Vegas 3 and 5The league announced the draft order yesterday afternoon -
From last year's entry draft after expansion, it had seemed the first 4 teams to draft this year would be Vancouver, Seattle, New York, and Toronto, the non-playoff teams in order of Gold Plan results. This year, though, there wasn't an expansion draft, and the entry draft has been ordered differently. All 6 rounds (72 picks) will have this order per the PWHL. Disappointing for this NY fan hoping for Edwards with the hypothetical pick order, though we will end up with a top-7 player.

People are going to be surprised how far Simms will fall in the draft. And Likely (reported?) Las Vegas/Detroit Knight deal gives Vegas 3 and 5
Well, Detroit made the deal.People are going to be surprised how far Simms will fall in the draft.
And does Detroit not make the deal for Knight. If they do it’s the dumbest trade in the history of hockey.
I think out of the top 10, but still round one.People are going to be surprised how far Simms will fall in the draft.
I think NY could use a goalie - so I think they are sitting well at 7 - Yes they don't get KK unless the go to the top - but I don't see Vancouver giving that up.NY seemingly got screwed with their draft position. They need to trade up and get KK. If there ever was a draft with a generational player, she is it. Give up whatever you need to less OB to get the deal done.
What are the factors that are going to cause Simms to fall in the draft?People are going to be surprised how far Simms will fall in the draft.

This probably is an example of why an argument should be made in the future that the actual position of the draft picks should be determined and announced well in advance. A 3rd overall for Knight is much different than a 9-12 overall. - Which I can only assume is where Detroit thought they'd be picking based on last years draft order.Well, Detroit made the deal.
I hope they do, or thing league is a complete joke.Do the GM's actually make the picks or is it all just controlled by the league? Since the teams aren't independently owned it feels like the whole thing is constructed to drive attendance to make the balance sheet look appealing for a possible suitor to either start selling off teams or the whole league. After all that is what private equity firms do to make money on their investments.
