2026 PWHL Draft

Just take the L. Simms was taken about where she had been projected to go all along. Why? There were better players ahead of her. Occam's razor.

This notion that you have inside info from even 1 PWHL FO is amusing, but 6 is just comical. Dial back the BS, please.
Plus the goalposts moved. Started with:

"People are going to be surprised how far Simms will fall in the draft."

Then "people" including many posters weren't at all surprised by her going 8th, a few spots lower than the typically projected 5th, in a loaded draft class.

So then it was "going 8th was like the 2nd round" for her. Except it wasn't, because she would have had to have fallen 8 spots to go in the second round...and that actually would have been surprising.

Hopefully they can pay these ladies a livable wage.
Not sure that will be the case. They invested in the league and not ownership of a particular team. It very well could be the Walter Group just cashes out part of their investment and the league doesn't really grow. I think players have to wait until the next CBA to see how the salaries change.

It will have nothing immediate to do with player salaries.
The infusion of money will help offset costs of doing business such as travel, equipment, marketing, support staff salaries etc.
