"Simms falling in the draft" is the new, postseason version of "Picard is done."

Don't also forget that half the team was going to transfer during this latest portal season due to massive dissent among the troops.Don't forget "Janecke is so overrated"
The draft is at 5 pm today, by the way. Seems like an odd time slot.
I'm sure they all did it as some sort of college prank/joke. Whatever, they are just dumb kids. It did get their names in all of the papers and draft previews.I'm shocked that Adrian and MSU Club girls didn't get drafted? Weird!
235 players declared for the draft, largely D1 alumnae and European players. Only a handful of players below that rank with most of the DIII players declaring themselves being the top senior goalies in the divisionI'm sure they all did it as some sort of college prank/joke. I did talk to one D1 player who declared for the draft, who was a top line player on her team, and she said she did not hear from any PWHL team prior to the draft asking even the most basic questions or background research, so the pool of draft eligibles was way deeper than needed to fill six rounds I would say.
Simms going at 8 was like falling to 2nd round for her."Simms falling in the draft" is the new, postseason version of "Picard is done."![]()
Why would they be "shocked" when it was supposedly the case that "There [were] at least 6 teams that have said 'Absolutely not' on Simms"?Simms going at 8 was like falling to 2nd round for her.
Toronto was shocked to have her fall in their lap.
So “at least 6 were a hard no” and she goes 8th. Hmmm… seems more than an accurate statement. Why would they be "shocked" when it was supposedly the case that "There [were] at least 6 teams that have said 'Absolutely not' on Simms"?
You're saying you knew something about "at least" SIX PWHL teams that the management of a seventh actual PWHL team involved didn't know?!?
LOL!

Just take the L. Simms was taken about where she had been projected to go all along. Why? There were better players ahead of her. Occam's razor. So “at least 6 were a hard no” and she goes 8th. Hmmm… seems more than an accurate statement.
If they were shocked, they didn't have any comprehension where the players were going to fall ahead of them. Clearly your anti-Simms bias is getting the best of you.Simms going at 8 was like falling to 2nd round for her.

I'd say that fair on all accounts.Serious question for Badger fans: how would you compare Simms and Watts? From a distance, I thought of both as being elite offensive producers, top-level as finishers, but not necessarily having the all-around games of people like Decker and Duggan and able to make teammates better to the same extent. Watts had an ability to find the open ice in front of the net, and Simms would rise when it mattered most.
Great question. After much deliberation, I'd pick Watts over Simms. The only caveat to that is Simms was on a deeper team, so maybe her impact was muted a bit by that.Serious question for Badger fans: how would you compare Simms and Watts? Watts single handedly allowed you to set a forum record for bad puns, so I'd guess she has a soft spot in your memories. After much deliberation, I'd pick Watts over Simms.
Watts your top 3 BADger nemesis's?Watts single handedly allowed you to set a forum record for bad puns, so I'd guess she has a soft spot in your memories.
Thank you both for the thoughts. It's only that there have been so many over the years that I wouldn't place either on the first team of all-time Badger nemeses.
Simms was a clutch sniper. I'd take her straight up shot over Watts. But Watts was one of my favorite Badgers forwards ever. Creativity, skating, puck handling, and vision made her a joy to watch at all times in the offensive zone.Serious question for Badger fans: how would you compare Simms and Watts?
