2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

Why the **** do the Democrats keep cannibalizing each other? What the **** do they hope to accomplish besides handing a dictatorship to Trump?

Because the consequences of losing in November are horrifying. That's why, end of statement. I'm not saying it's ok, just saying why.

Too many pages of posts for me to go back and read to see if this was answered so my apologies. Is all this kerfuffle calling for Biden to step aside just because of his performance at the debate? It was one 90-minute thing. Have they not been paying attention to what he's done and how he's been since then? And before? And who on earth are they assuming would step up to be the nominee? If you're going to ask for him to step down, provide a solution for if he does.

Blumenthal loudly supported Joe yesterday now says he has deep concerns today

Full quote

“I am deeply concerned about Joe Biden winning this November because it is an existential threat to the country if Donald Trump wins. So I think that we have to reach a conclusion as soon as possible and Joe Biden as the Democratic nominee has my full support.”

If there is one thing I’ve learned working it’s that people don’t want bad news and won’t take action on it until the last possible second. I’m sure people in DC have heard in the last year or two that he is slipping more and more but the debate obviously laid it bare.

There is no doubt Trump winning would be a disaster and is of immediate concern, but even if Biden saw him off what comes next? Is he willing to step down at some point? Even if he willing steps down what are the consequences then? If I was a democratic member of congress those questions would be weighing heavily on me right now.

Has anyone besides Fetterman offered much support for Biden? I’ve read a lot of ‘Biden is the nominee and I support him’ type quotes which don’t inspire much confidence.

I think we all need to sit and appreciate the weapons-grade stupid of this pair of sentences.

Yeah...delicious!

BTW Drew yes. Check out what all the non White Males in Congress are saying.

And Blumenthal is right...but will be misquoted just like Jim Clyburn was. (Hey Drew he also said he fully backs Biden-Harris)

50 years from, no matter the outcome, history students will ask why the media has spent so many years going after a man and his family who has done nothing but serve admirably in the Senate and WH for 50 years. I mean between the amount of time they spent on Hunter alone was bad but this is phucking next level. And we all know why (check out who owns/runs these networks and who they give money too) but they will ask teachers to make it make sense and they will not be able to.

What journalism has become in the last decade or so makes the "Yellow Journalism" stuff back in the day look tame. Maybe people need to go watch Newsies so they can understand better.

Tomorrow the NATO press conference will, ironically, be D-Day. If it goes well Biden will have all the ammo he needs. If it goes badly I think he steps down by Monday. The Dems won't tick off the Hollywood money.

The most recent issue of the Economist unloads on Joe. It's well argued. Not something you can dismiss as "bedwetting" with a straight face.

That, plus the PR disaster that is his campaign since then, plus the drip-drip-drip leaks of unverified "information" like "he took a sharp downturn immediately after the SOTU".

I can't believe the Democrats keep going for the un-democratic solution of giving their nomination to the person who won the most primary votes and thus won the most delegates.

And also beat Trump the last time.

What a horrible candidate.
