We should be able to debate the merits of Biden dropping out without being accused of giving aid and comfort to The Convict or making the perfect the enemy of the good. There are legitimate concerns with Biden's ability to perform the duties of the Presidency. There are also legitimate concerns about his electability.

If you think it's a bad idea for these debates to play out in mob-facing media like CNN or the NYT, OK. But on a rinky dink college hockey board anything is fair game.

I just want to beat the Fasc.

That's not what I said. What I said was, if you are giving money to a dishonest organization willing to outright lie about Joe Biden, then you are complicit.

i'm sorry if that raises internal conflict because you subscribe. But there is no way around it at this point. They knowingly lied about Biden insinuating he had Parkinson's.

If you want an honest debate about Biden, have at it. But if you're giving money to the New York Times, you are giving money to the Trump media wing and you should feel like shit for it.

All of the polling having suggested he is the most electable candidate of any of the top democrats. I'm sorry that the NYT lied and convinced you otherwise. This was the media beating the drum for a fascist so they could sell newspapers. Full stop.

So with Jeffries offering support of Biden, it seems that he's our guy. At least until the next "oh god" moment.


Yeah, I'm nervous. The states are terrifyingly high. Endless respect for Joe Biden. But jesus...

Good term, rinky dink. Ought to be used more often, IMO. Question, though. If a college has a dinky rink, does that mean it's rinky dink?

Literally no one has said "There should be no debate" and you know it. But dx is right...some of these outlets are knowingly lying and if you choose to support them than you are just being a "Good Little German". Many in the media are cooking the books...the biggest example is how much they all of a sudden respect Kamala Harris when they have spent 3 years ignoring her and everything she does. Now all of a sudden we are supposed to believe that they won't crap all over her as soon as Trump starts attacking her?

It doesn't matter anyways. Replacing Biden is not happening. The only people panicking right now are White People. (many of them old) Same spineless BS we always see from Democrats. Always worried about what the polls say never about what the actual people say. (btw Morning Consult has Biden still winning in WI and MI despite apparently having Parkinson's and Alzheimer's)

You can discuss it until the cows go home, but you are wasting your time because it is not happening. If they forced Biden out now they would face a backlash at the ballot box. People voted in the primaries and he won handily. ("Uncommitted" did less than half as good as Haley did) You wipe their votes out without giving them a say and you are no better than the Republicans. Full stop. And before you say it, if you talk to actual voters they say they want Biden. Even CNN hasn't been able to edit out that truth yet when they have actual voters on.
 
Social media is touting that in the past 3 years, the so-called "left behind counties" - the ~1,000 counties across the United States that experienced lagging population and income growth from 2000 to 2016, and were disproportionally hammered by The Great Recession - have enjoyed their highest rate of job creation and business growth since the 90s. That said, they still lag behind the rest of the nation.

Also the RNC has all but said that the second the Dems remove Biden from a ballot, they'll gum up the gears and get the courts to block any other names. The time to pick someone else was apparently last winter.

Oh there is no doubt. It would be tough to do if they just have Harris run because she is on the ticket already and the successor to him but anyone else and the GOP will sue and have an arguable point to keep them off the ballot. There isn't enough time to get enough signatures to make it work. Not to mention voter rights groups will sue the DNC to block the change as well... And then lets say all of the new candidate survives all of that he/she is going to be so far behind in fundraising they might as well just quit anyways. The $240 million the Biden Camp has right now (which includes ridiculous fundraising since the debate) does not transfer. Some might if it is earmarked for the Party not the candidate, but anything raised by Joe or in Joe's name goes back to the donors.

If all of these Old White People are so scared, why didn't they back Dean Phillips when he ran in opposition? A solid protest vote in his favor and you have a completely different scenario right now.

And I will continue to say it is "Old White Men" who mostly care about all this because it is. The Congressional Black Caucus, The Hispanic Caucus, The Progressive Caucus and most of the big money donors (despite what cnbc is putting out there) have all backed Biden.
 
I listened to the entirety of yesterday’s interview and other than Biden’s voice sounding stronger than it did at the debate it was pretty poor. He really struggles to put a sentence together and does a lot of rambling. He reminds me of grandpa when he isn’t safe on the road anymore and his kids want to take the keys away. Time will tell what happens but I can’t see waiting making the situation better.

Exactly. We had a primary. It wasn't close. No one made a compelling argument to replace him then because - and I'm yelling this for the people in the back - HIS POLICIES ARE GOOD* AND HIS ADMIN IS EFFECTIVE

It's Biden and the politicians we often characterize as the most astute are backing him as well. And vocally so. It's well past time to move on from this media-driven nonsense and focus on winning the race.
