2024 Elections: One Last Chance for Democracy

If there is one thing I’ve learned working it’s that people don’t want bad news and won’t take action on it until the last possible second. I’m sure people in DC have heard in the last year or two that he is slipping more and more but the debate obviously laid it bare.

There is no doubt Trump winning would be a disaster and is of immediate concern, but even if Biden saw him off what comes next? Is he willing to step down at some point? Even if he willing steps down what are the consequences then? If I was a democratic member of congress those questions would be weighing heavily on me right now.

Has anyone besides Fetterman offered much support for Biden? I’ve read a lot of ‘Biden is the nominee and I support him’ type quotes which don’t inspire much confidence.

but I don't trust a goddamn thing I hear from the media on this topic anymore. Far, far too many snakes out there.

I'm at the point where - should Biden win - anyone publicly calling for him to step aside or pulling shit like Adam Smith is doing should have a political knife wedged between their shoulder blades by the end of January.

This kind of bad political intelligence needs to be cut off from the party before it has a chance to metastasize. It's bad instincts, it's terrible politics, and worse yet it is hurting our chances.

No I agree...its just weird that Kepler is closer to the Centrists on this one than the Progressives. Doubly delicious cause he always calls me a Centrist ;)

I have zero issue with the Dems (or us) discussing it amongst themselves.

It’s absolutely wild what is being tossed around right now. Like directly contradicting takes all over. Northeastern just released a poll where Biden is holding more voters post debate than dementia Donnie

Agreed. No one who openly talked about replacing him (or worse, said he will lose outright) should be allowed to call on Joe for anything if he stays on the ticket and wins. (he will never be that vindictive) That includes Angie Craig who really had no reason to go public with her issues. I love her would definitely vote for her if she was my Rep but I would also tell her every time she asked for money she can get bent, my money goes to people who understand the stakes.

But let's be realistic I don't think this train is stopping. Even when the media is called out to their face they don't care. Even when they are caught flat out lying they never change tune or even apologize. Hell they blame Biden for people not knowing more about Project 2025 and he is literally the only one talking about it regularly! They move the goalposts every time he speaks because the more he does the more people see he is not as bad as the debate made him look. He is not pretending he is Obama in his prime, he is not even pretending to be Biden of 4 years ago. He is just saying however much he slowed down he can still do the job and do it well...and apparently that isn't good enough. Because he broke his foot and wouldn't wear a boot (for fear of looking weak) he has a stiff gate...or Parkinson's if you work for CNN and the New York Times.

So here is what I think Harris should do...she should take interviews with every outlet in the first few days. Make them reckon with her. The media will be polite for a bit because you don't bully a Woman of Color and not get destroyed...CNN only has like 5 viewers left so they certainly can't afford it! Then make sure every one of them know how shameful it is that they forced this issue. Act humble, but make sure no one forgets that Joe Biden is why she is here and why the country is in a much better place than it was when he took over.

What's sad is, if Trump wins no matter what Biden will be blamed. Just like how Scooby and a bunch of Lefties blame RBG for Roe going away. Not the voters who wouldn't vote for Hillary when the SC was on the line...no it is never their fault. Same here. Because this country...well I should say...White People in this country hate old people on a level that is friggin staggering. There is a reason why the CBC and CHC both support keeping Biden while the White People are fleeing...and it is all about respect for elders. All of this is phucking disgusting.

Morning Consult had him adding to his leads in Michigan and Wisconsin post debate...despite supposedly the Indy's fleeing him for being old!1!!1! The rest of the Swing States were within the MOE. There was almost no overall movement...and Trump gained almost nothing.

The only time I ever watch CNN these days is if a clip shows up on youtube that is interesting. After the debate CNN had a lady talking to I think 5 Black Women...at least a couple of whom were undecided. They all acknowledged Biden had a bad night but cared more about the lying that Trump did NONSTOP. You could tell the interviewer/pollster (and older White Lady...she should probably quit) wanted a different answer but when asked all of them said Biden had their vote and I think only 1 wavered. There wasn't much follow up because CNN didn't get what they want. You can always count on them to bury a story when it doesn't hit the narrative. (I am sure Bakari Sellers will never be back on since he called all of them out, himself included, for the BS they are perpetrating)

I posted the quote last night where voters in NH basically warned the Dems against causing a civil war in the party. Only the Dems and the MSM could make Joe Biden, a career politician, look like an underdog fighting "The Establishment". My lord they lost the plot...

One poll gave women under 30 to Trump. Another poll put Nee York as a battleground (and people ran with this!!!!)

Polls on a small scale can get really f__cky. It's why national polls are useful for popular vote but aren't really useful in a vacuum or on extremely small scales.

The Times had Trump gaining 20% amongst Black Voters a few months ago...and a week ago they had to admit that in a recent poll the numbers were skewed because more GOPers responded than anyone else. Amazingly the GOP did great in that poll :eek:
 
Project 2025 has explicit language that seeks to open up the BWCA for mining and energy production.

run this ad and it probably moves Minnesota from leans D to Likely D.
