The other thing about Porter, which I'm blind to as a pseudo-academic with too many degrees and creds, is that it appears her whiteboarding and general smarter-than-thou shtick was not very popular with black women and SIEU steward types.

Porter is not taking her loss very well. "Billionaires 'rigged' the primary" is a poor choice of words at the moment.

Though there was some Crypto PAC that kept running random negative ads against her. Though a bunch of crypto incels opposing her didn't exactly make me not want to vote for her, personally.

People get the representation they deserve, good and hard.

Porter was one of the best 3 or 4 people in Congress. She would have been the finest member of the Senate (low bar). The liberals of California are vain, infantile fools and do not deserve her.

Enjoy Adam Schiff. He's perfectly cromulent, but those morons had a chance at greatness and they went up their own as-sholes where it's warm and comfy.

Meanwhile, Garvey at 32% says all you need about the state of the GQP. If a Liberal is a coward, a Conservative is a coward and an imbecile.

Or she ran a stupid campaign and lost because of it...nah that can't be it.

I love Porter but she thought she could win on her white board and without putting up any sort of real fight against her opponents. She isn't running for Alderman of Orange County she is running for the Senate against a well known Democrat who has been on the news almost daily since the first Trump Impeachment. Her advisors dropped the ball big time.

Oh get off yourself. Schiff and Porter are both perfectly fine, there's no need this needs to be some big fight. At least I would have been happy with either. Frankly both of them entering seems like a miscalculation, and them combined with Lee split things just enough to make it hard to get two Dems on through. As others said, there should have been more strategy in surveying the field for this election before giving up a House seat, since she does a lot of great work there (and could have continued to; people, we still need good people in House seats; I know it's not the highest level but we still need at least 218 good people there, so you're still part of the solution even there).

I felt that Porter was all promise and little delivery. Yeah she got some good jabs in here and there but was more performative than productive. And for her to take the loss like this is pathetic. Don't use the same BS words that Trump uses, for god's sake.

It was spectacularly bad judgment.

When you get f-cked by the DNC, you work for change behind the scenes, and you organize a gang of cut throat rebels to fricasse the Center the instant their smug thugs nod off, but in public you smile and talk about how The Nominee is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being you've ever known. Bernie did it when the Clintonistas did him, and Porter should know better.

And, pragmatically speaking, being able to seize the means and ratf-ck your primary opponent is proof of concept that you can do it to the Nazi in the general. It's not a crime, it's a job requirement.
