I really feel for Shenna in this situation. It was an impossible spot and I think for her it made sense to upset the other side and not her side. I’m sure she has been under a ton of pressure from Biden and everyone on the left.

With that being said I never thought I would see the day when voters aren’t allowed to decide elections. Good on Jared Golden and others for speaking out against it.

Yeah which is dumb because Britain had adopted a policy of no longer partnering with nations that had slavery like The South did**. Its why they never helped in the Civil War even though The Confederacy was begging them to and Britain needed the cotton. It is a lazy take for alt history.

France maybe but Napoleon III was too busy with his issue Mexico and they were on too friendly of terms with the US to upset the applecart.



**Just because they would never partner doesn't mean they wouldn't buy...they just could never be in any formal treaty or alliance with Slave Nations officially (even though they probably were because Britain has been and always will be hypocritical dbags)

Yeah, cause the Constitution makes it clear who is eligible to run for elective office. Standards and such.

You can't be 30 years old and run for president. Those who provoke insurrection against the government aren't allowed to either. Nor should they be.

No matter how much you want to vote for them.

Voters decided they didn't want this guy in 2020.

Do you agree with the goals over which the Civil War was fought? I believe you are already on record as saying it was more than just slavery. Well part of the outcome was also fought to make sure those who rebel against our government using violence are not allowed to serve in the offices of our government. No one is taking away any rights voters have already by removing trump from a ballot. Not in any way, shape or form. In actuality trump HAS no right to run, because he is an insurrectionist traitor, and voters have no right to vote for him.

People like you are as damaging to our democracy as trump is any day of the week. Since the Civil War there hasn't been a more clear-cut case of insurrection than what trump built, encouraged, and allowed on 1/6/21. IF our country survives, 50 years from now that date will truly be seen as one of the darkest 2 or 3 in the entire history of this country. If you want to live somewhere where people like trump can run for office and people like you can vote for him, please go find another country. Mine has enough flaws already without having to deal with people like you.

There would have been no CSA by 1941. They would have degenerated into a bunch of warring dipsh-t state tribes within a generation and been gobbled back up by the Union just like Central America as agricultural extractive client states. We could have given the blacks control and had them use the whites for farm labor.

Of course I agree with them. The north would have gone skint without the south’s natural resources and the security situation would have been untenable. Slavery was the driving force behind the south leaving but abolishing slavery had nothing to do with why the north fought to keep them. Lincoln repeatedly made that crystal clear.

I don’t want Trump to be elected city dog catcher but that doesn’t mean he should be excluded from the ballot. If the Dems wanted Anthony Weiner to run (again) for whatever office I wouldn’t have any problem with him being on the ballot but would hope people wouldn’t vote for him.
