Anything that isn't them winning is going to exacerbate it... Because they have it firmly believed in their minds that anything that isn't them winning is rigged against them. So who cares how many states he's off the ballot on get him off the ballet in every damn state if we have to... As long as it's legal and they can't legally challenge it who cares. We've already seen that no matter what happens...no matter how many legal challenges they're going to lose they're going to keep screaming and claiming it was rigged, so let them bleat. And if they take it to other means then we'll deal with it.

This whole argument that you're making of he hasn't been convicted of it...the article doesn't say convicted so it doesn't matter that he isn't convicted of it. it's a valid legal challenge and according to several conservative judges it should be upheld by the Supreme Court. We know they're not going to and that's the problem...but I'm sorry I'm beyond caring whether these guys that are MAGA cultists are going to complain or do something about it. Seems rational to me, not alarming. In 2020, there was a cabal and an insurrection led by the POTUS aimed at NOT COUNTING THEIR VOTES.

Alarm is the rational response.

I don't mean people who rationally believe republicans are trying to make it hard for them to vote. You underestimate the average person...not surprising. January 6th was almost the "something stupid" and if the mob had gotten their way it would have been. Only the hardest of Hardcore Trumpers would have been around had they hung Mike Pence even the crazy networks like Newsmax would have had to abandon Emperor Cheeto. Even spineless losers like McCarthy would have never flip flopped because their fear would be ongoing which is basically the only way they will do something approaching the right thing to do.

Correct. I know there is a lot of fear mongering about who the cops and military support...none of them are going to risk their freedom in a full on coup d'etat. It is one thing when Trump is in power and you want to keep him there so you machinate and use your position to hold the line behind the scenes. It is another to completely overthrow the Government en masse and openly rebel. Even if you had majority buy in you would need to coordinate in every state and every branch and you would need to oust any leadership against you. All it takes is one officer in opposition and you are shot on site. We are not some small island or country the logistics would be insane and impossible to keep quiet.

SCOTUS won't let this stand because if it did, it all but guarantees the 2024 election will be an utter shambles.

FTLT is on to something when they posted "maybe this needs to get ugly... and something needs to end this." We can't continue as this nation if trump is at the top of the executive branch. But we also can't continue as this country if we have endless arguments about "was the election fair" and "my election was stolen!" and any related nonsense. The vast majority of people have to believe that elections are more or less fair and counted accurately. But nearly half the country does not believe that to be true unless the republican wins. Polls also have shown an alarming number of democrats who believe there is at least some realistic chance THEIR votes may not be counted.

Frankly I think there is a near-zero chance this gets resolved absent violence on a scale we haven't seen since the Civil War. Like the Civil War, one side will clearly be responsible for starting it. Unlike the Civil War I am not sure if the side I am on will eventually prevail.

Problem is, half the country is going to believe this, no matter what. Unless they win everything they want, it was stolen from them. Rigged. Cheated. Nothing will ever change their minds.

They are impervious to actual facts, evidence, statistics. They just know.

It won't be like the first civil war. It'll just be posses going into Minneapolis and indiscriminately shooting people that don't look like them or don't have TRUMP24 flags outside their house. Honestly, and with all apologies to my Jewish friends, it's almost going to be like chud Passover.
