2023 Atlantic Hurricane Season: Non-Minnesotans arguing about the weather

Yikes

Looks like the coast of Maine is in the cone. Marinas are taking out boats as fast as they can. For me it depends on wind direction. Hate to take my tomato house down but….

Pretty crazy here today but I’ve seen worse. Lost power but power company fixed it already, tree on wire about 2 miles from my house. Another big maple fell across road , neighbor and I cut that up so emergency vehicles could down our road if needed. Glad it trended east as it’s still a Cat 1 headed into Nova Scotia, probably downgraded now though.

Lee whacked eastern Maine. Lots of wind and rain. People still without power. The predicted path on Tuesday had me worried. But it didn’t jog west into the coast, it stayed straight thru gulf of Maine into western Nova Scotia. Guessers predicted the 50 degree water in the Gulf would knock it down quickly but it didn’t. The highest gust of wind was 80, around my house in the 50s. Headed out to cleanup in awhile.

Glad that it wasn't much worse for you. Hopefully that's the last bad storm you get for a while.

Most storms that hit our island track from the east and as such they're unlikely to impact our location hard. As of now a current storm is scheduled to land from the west by Wednesday and per its current trajectory right on top of us. We shall see.

There are no current storms in the Western Pacific, and looking at the models, none are forecast to impact the Philippines over the next 10 days.

I dunno if the rain in Virginia is hurricane related but it sure feels like it. Driving, horizontal gusts. I got a wind-assisted lane change this morning; those are always fun. Happily nobody else was stupid enough to be out on the road.

No one else? I know someone who went bike riding around Hains Point for about an hour and a half. :-D

There were quite a few others there, mainly runners.

I saw a few drivers and one girl apparently taking the Walk of Shame home from the prom apres ski. What a gentleman.
