2023 - 2024 SEASON : Boston College

Looks like Wisconsin is almost locked into #8 and Quinnipiac is almost locked into #9. Not sure what will happen elsewhere and if teams need to be moved around but that could be the other game we see in the Providence regional. Both of those are 90% likely as of the latest run in the probability matrix.

Fowler was solid in the first and second periods until BC got rolling and when they started rolling it was all down hill from there. Hrabel had a bad night, it seemed like he could not find the puck. Having Perreault back is huge, he makes the USA line go and his presence there makes the top line all that much better.
They just dismantled UMAss tonight.

At least UMass fans won't be doing any tik toks about officiating tonight. BC just flat out owns their ass.

Loved the 4th goal. Perreault on the forecheck breaks up a UMass outlet and quickly gets the puck in motion leading to a goal. That sealed it.

It was always gonna be BC-BU. Hopefully some revenge from the Beanpot. Should be a classic.

Looking at the previous game BC must not let BU jump out to a quick lead and allow BU to play lockdown defense. No BC turnovers in their own end and clean up those mistakes in the bean pot game

some more pearls of wisdom from our favorite coach:
'Half of [BC's] kids have played 10-12 games in this building. Our team hasn't. It's a big stage. We didn't want it to be an excuse but we didn't have the experience playing here. We didn't get a chance to skate here yesterday. But those are excuses'

not going to lie though, would love to see them sneak in and bu get the 2011 BC treatment in some empty midwest arena

In a college basketball type selection process i would imagine the winner of tonight's game would get the #1 seed in Providence.

I hate these games. You know BU is going to make it 3-2 and make it interesting here.

Looks like Marshall Warren just backhanded an absolutely dirty top shelf goal in the B1G championship game for the Wolverines.

I said I'll believe it when I see it; these guys got it done. Credit to them. Not easy being a clear cut #1 and having that target every night even with the talent discrepancy every game.

Hard to believe the last title was 2012. Great to finally put Boston College back on that banner.

Providence seems locked in as BC, Wisconsin, Quinnipiac, Michigan Tech. Anything can happen in this crazy tournament but just so happy to be back and plan on being in attendance. Didn't make it to Conte all year.

Congrats, BC was great tonight. Great crowd/chants too. As a neutral fan it was a great hockey east title game. Smith was spectacular, the goal where he wristed a laser high stick side just inside the corner was nasty.

Decided with my friends I was not going to pay $60 parking to the Jacob’s or anyone else in the area and add on to the inflated ticket prices.

we parked at BC and ate in a campus cafe instead of inflated garden food prices

I used my senior T pass and we rode with BC students and BU students to north station

Everyone was excited including the BU students with some good back and forth along the ride

For me and my friends it was a sentimental journey being alums

Agreed it has been a long time since 2012 and I told my friends I want to see one more before I croak of old age

The long ride back to campus was packed to BC but everyone was in a great mood obviously

I haven’t been this happy for BC hockey since our last title and my friends and I have season tickets to all three sports

Hoops and the gridiron may never get there like hockey but honestly I wasn’t sure if they could do it after the lost in the beanpot

But it is not over

There are still more hurdles to climb and nothing is a sure thing

cutter with 35 goals is now 5th highest in a season (record is 38) and most ever as a SO.
will smith has most points ever by a FR, 2nd most by an underclassman.
leonard has 2nd most goals by FR at 27, gionta had 30
gabe is 5th in FR points (probably #2 in PPG)

It was a terrific game if you are a BC fan, the only blemish was the 5 minutes to Armstrong, just a witless penalty in the neutral zone, no need for it. They kept Hutson and Celebrini under control, Celebrini scored in the 5 minute major, otherwise he was neutralized. Fowler was just terrific, particularly in the second when BU was really pressing and had some excellent chances. The team defense in front of him was solid, lots of lifted sticks, blocked shots and sticks in the lanes. Just all around solid. I was unable to see the fight at the end but it was not surprising (same side bad angle), highly emotional game, BU was frustrated and pissed off. Pando was jumping up and down all night, the ref finally came over and told him to calm down and a little later to just relax. BU was just outplayed and they had a hard time with a 6-2 score. COngrats to Brown and the coaching staff and the players, long time since we had a winner. I am not sure about the team total points, but to have 4 guys scoring like they do is just amazing. This team is really a truck, a diesel truck.
