2021 NCAA Championship: No. 1 Northeastern Huskies vs. No. 2 Wisconsin Badgers

Daryl Watts has scored on Northeastern in OT in big games before right?

That would be kind of cool.

Edit: don’t think she has actually. In Watts last Hockey East game in a BC jersey, NU won in OT. Last year, Schneider (of course!) scored in OT for Wisconsin vs NU

Obviously both teams have given their all and whomever wins, Kay Sera Sera! But I just want people that follow sports to be shown the quality of hockey being played!! Is that too much to ask for?

I’ve changed my support and am now rooting for NU. Very turned off by WI’s cheap shots. Lots of dirty cross checks both in front of the refs and when the refs aren’t looking. Classless.
I've always thought that Johnson-coached teams are masters at doing just enough physically to make the play without getting called. And depending on where that line is they know when to back off. This doesn't always work but, more often than not, they've had a lot of success with it. And more generally, they've benefitted from the women's game getting more physical in recent years.

I love physical play. But crosschecks after the whistle and behind ref’s backs, that’s not physical, that’s dirty.

You called it!

Depending on who you're rooting for, that is either a brilliant or utterly crappy way for the game to end.

FULL credit to Northeastern. That was an outstanding game, all around.

It's a joke how little they get called for penalties. 8 games with 1 or 0 penalties called against them.

I can take Wisconsin winning on a nice snap shot or a tic-tac-toe like the other day but not that......bad way to win such a battled game! That why soccer plays extra time, not sudden death, so a fluke doesn’t decide a great match!

They just talked to Watts on TV; she WAS going for a bank shot, though I think she was aiming for Frankel and got one of the defenders. But she was going for a bank shot. WOW!

Sorta feel bad for the bunnies as that was a bad bounce off #27. WCHA another championchip...But it's the sinners. Geez I think I'm gonna be sick.

Turned into a good game. Congrats to the Badgers. Happy for Blair, but missed her this year!

Huge credit for the Badgers for having a super deep team and not seeming to let it become an issue. The “third” line carried them offensively in the tourney til Watts broke through in OT. Really fun to watch. Team Canada....cannot take a pass on Watts for worlds.

Commenting on Johnson and his coaching......Parker for BU men’s team would always pull every type of BS allowed within the rule book.....it was disgraceful at times but they won.....same thing here!

I wondered about that. It did look almost purposeful on the replay. That would change it from a sloppy goal and puck luck to a really smart play and great hockey.

I don’t mind the final goal at all. Showed big hockey smarts by Watts. D was giving nothing all game on either team. There wasn’t going to be any tic tac toe. Frankel was unreal all tourney and only wizardry was going to beat her.

Penalties tonight were four called against Wisconsin, one against Northeastern

Yeah, not really a factor tonight other than penalties not really being called at all for a while, but looked pretty even there. I just want to click on Wis - Min box scores and have it not look like the worst hockey game ever played with 29-23 shots and just 1 penalty called.
