2020 Democratic Challengers VII: Bon Voyage Beto

JFK was not a liberal. His foreign policy was more hawkish than Eisenhower and his fear of communism was legendary. He cut the top marginal tax rate by more than Reagan did.

We remember JFK as a liberal darling because Bobby was a liberal (and the brains of the outfit) and because he was murdered and is therefore a Democratic Saint. But he was backpeddling from FDR as fast as his shapely legs could go. It was LBJ himself who enacted the great liberal policies of the 60s but he was destroyed by Vietnam.

Helping poor & colored folks ain’t liberal.... got it :)

Learn..... learn!!

No, mookie, we all know about the Two Americas. The point is whether JFK counts as a Left or Center president. He was Center for the Democratic party of the times. He enthusiastically embraced provocative Cold War policies. He warped the tax code in favor the rich. Just because he was young and cute doesn't mean he was a liberal. Bobby was the liberal.

Learn..... learn!!

A second poll finds Mayor Pete in first in Iowa. https://www.desmoinesregister.com/s...-poll-warren-sanders-biden-follow/4198100002/

I will most likely be caucusing for him. Warren's my second choice.

This is bad news for Biden...everyone finally realized there is a better Centrist candidate with none of the baggage. I am not sure though it will mean anything because I dont see him doing good outside the Midwest. That could make him very valuable later on.

I would have no issue with voting for him though.

He's an interesting choice. First: stark, stark generational contrast. Second: vet vs dodger. Third: Midwesterner vs rich NYer. Fourth: positivity and forward looking vs negativity and fear.

I think he wins in a walk, if he can win the nomination. Abrams as Veep. Lock it down.

Dont forget "Educated vs. Moron" and "Gay and Committed vs. Likes to Get Peed on By Hookers". Oh and "Religious vs. Sinner Extreme".

It is kind of Ironic because outside of the Gay part (GOP Gays are in the closet still) he would be a great candidate for the GOP. Christian Vet from the Midwest? DUH!
