2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

Let me see if I have this straight. The person who ends up appealing to the majority of the Dem electorate via the primaries probably shouldn't be the nominee because they might not inspire enough Dems to vote? Umm...okay, so we should really be choosing whoever finishes 2nd? 3rd? 5th?

Its not like we're back to a floor fight at the convention and a smoky back room here. The Dem nominating contest will be even more democratic in 2020 as more states are getting away from caucuses and moving to primaries. Whoever wins that (Bernie, Biden, Harris, Warren, etc) is our best bet to win the Presidency.

Did you do away with super delegates?

AMES, IA—Hoping to give them the tools they will need to succeed in the 2020 election, White House hopeful Elizabeth Warren has been spending her evenings tutoring underperforming presidential candidates on how to craft comprehensive policy proposals, sources reported Thursday. “Given my expertise in this area, I think it’s important to reach out to candidates who have fallen behind when it comes to putting together a plan that will take the country where it needs to go,” said the Massachusetts senator who tutors Pete Buttigieg, John Hickenlooper, Julián Castro, and others each week, allowing them to submit ideas on issues from climate change to gun control so she can evaluate and give notes on their work. “It’s only a couple hours a week out of my campaign schedule, and I believe it’s my duty to help candidates who can’t help themselves. Some of them, like Beto or de Blasio, may never get it, but if I can reach even one of them, I’ll know I’ve done my job. It’s my way of giving back.” At press time, Warren had reportedly been forced to pull Joe Biden aside and lecture him after she discovered he was simply copying from the other candidates.

like you believe the Left is never racist, or misogynistic...or evil

I don't believe any of those things. Never say never.

I do believe the Left is less racist, misogynistic, and evil than the Right.

I also stress "less." But I think the left is as rabid as the right, when it comes down to it.

Another great both sides post from the Rube! Who could’ve seen it coming!? :D

Re: 2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

You both realize I was piggybacking Kep's post, which is also a "both sides." Yet no mention of him. Funny.

My "both sides" is a hangnail vs trigeminal neuralgia.

The problem is you recognize the relative but still deal in absolutes. Just because the Dems have been found to have drawn partisan maps in Maryland does not make it equal to the nationwide gerrymandering orchestrated by republicans in 2010 and their continued fight to strip the VRA down to nothing while making it harder for the poor, minorities, youth, and elderly to vote.

Well his post was in reply to Kepler's post saying the right is more racist, misogynistic, and evil. I read that as the far right (actual politicians and supporters) and not necessarily your average republican voter, in which case I agree because it's pretty well documented and there's stats/policies to back that assertion. The abortion laws they've passed in a number of states are incredibly misogynistic and hurt poor people the most. The far right commits more terrorist acts than fanatical Muslims much less the "far left", not to mention they're doing it in support of a white ethno-state and racial purity which is the most ****ed up reasoning ever, they're definitely more evil and racist in that sense.

Which either leads me to believe that he's doing more low effort trolling or he's incredibly stupid and incapable of doing basic research outside of listening to whatever nonsense right wing sources.

Kep said that both sides have prejudices, the left is less rabid on that front. I agreed on that point, and said the rabid left (as for attacking the other side in general) is just as rabid as the right.

And the echo chamber pounced on me. Hilarious. A few phrases come to mind when talking with the rufus', Scoobys, trix', and jerpsichs of the world: blinded by the light, but it's different in this case, etc etc.

Hickenlooper has no clue. None. JFC. (watching on CNN right now)

Re: 2020 Democrat Challengers Part II: There Can Be Only One

Another reason Tom Perez was a terrible choice? He made the decision to ban climate change from the dem debate.
Way to go, Tom.
