For just pure entertainment download the police scanner app and dial in Chicago. Solid gold for last hour plus.

Maybe the Maple Laffs should see if Theo can work his magic in hockey...

Not gonna lie, the Budweiser commercial with Harry Caray brought a tear.

That was awesome. For the locals, you know the suburbs. For the non-locals, these cites mentioned are about 20-25 minutes apart:

Went to OC Blaine. Saw lead off HR. However, the last of the group I'm with leaves bottom 3rd. F*. Haul *** to 819 in Hopkins. Walk in 30 seconds before THAT Cubs HR in the 5th.

Then sh* ensues in the game, I consider switching bars. BOOM, that 3rd HR happens for the Cubs. I stay. Closing time (10:30) approaches, end of 8th. Cash out, run across to Mainstreet Bar just in time for 9th. Bartender sees me, asks if I'm gonna have a heart attack, I am in full intense mode at this point. Cubs (eventually) WIN! Holy F. Whole bar high fives me, as I'm the only Cub fan (or even baseball fan) really present. Few minutes later, 2 more Cubs fans (with the FLAG) come from the back room. Whiskeys all around. I play Sweet Home Chicago on jukebox. Other fan finds "Go Cubs Go" on the jukebox and plays it. My God, what a great night. Great night.

It'll be interesting to see the Nielsen numbers on this game. If my Facebook feed is any indication it'll be the highest rated WS in decades.

The ONLY game I can think of, off the top of my head, is the 91 Twins Game 7. And I bet this blew that away. Matchup to begin with, and how it played out prob gained viewers as it went on.

According to Twitter, via the Chicago Scanner, fans have stolen a Taco Bell sign and are parading it through the streets...

If that's all that happens.....

Many of us at the bar semi-joked: two cities will burn tonight.....

The boys on SCORE radio in Chi were talking before the weekend that if the Cubs were up 3-1 going into Sunday's game it could be the hottest single ticket in all of sports history, including the Thrilla in Manila. Last night's game must have been close, even though it was in Cleveland.

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Not sure anyone could call that the greatest game ever played, given the errors and wild pitches, but given the circumstances there's a case to be made for greatest game.

I will try and get some sleep now. What a game. Greatest ever. Dynasty in the making.

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Congrats to the Cubbies and their die hards. Very fun team to watch, and a ridiculously exciting game. I hope unofan is calling in sick today.

Good win by the Cubs but I wonder how their genius GM would do running the Brewers or the Rays with monetary constraints instead of having carte blanche and being able to spend like a kid in a candy store as he's been able to do with Chicago and Boston?

Obviously he spent it on the right players. Doesn't always work.
