2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Re: 2016 MLB Season - Curses, foiled again?

Today the Twins could go 0-8, if they play their cards right. They haven't been 0-7 since moving to Minnesota. Back in their Washington Senators days, they started one season 0-23. It was sometime in the 40s, I think.

I thought I remember hearing this is the worst start for the franchise since 1904 or something like that. They started 0-7 or 0-8.

Edit: Yeah, 1904 was the worst. The 0-22 was the Orioles in 1988. That's the league record as best I can tell.

Doesn't look like it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_longest_losing_streaks#Regular_season

There is an 18-game losing streak for the Senators in the 40's ("First in war, first in peace, last in the American League"), but it's in September.

And that's the problem with me trying to relay information given to me on the radio just as I'm waking up in the morning. Some of the data got mixed up in my head, or I just didn't hear when they mentioned another team as a point of reference.

Do they play the Barves (0-8) this year?
Yes, but not until mid-July. Two games in Minnesota, then the return two games in Georgia mid-August. I can't see the Barves or Twinks going winless that long.

They have four games against each other starting Monday, first two here and then down in Hotlanta.
Monday starts the four game home and home versus Milwaukee.

That's what I get for glancing. I saw the Br and just naturally assumed. Or hoped.

Hey, hey. The Brewers currently have more wins than the Braves and Twins, combined!

In fact, they've got more wins than the Braves, Twins, AND Mets combined! ;)

The Mets will be fine. We strike out too much, but we compensate by being slow on the basepaths.

shocking

@joe_sheehan: This is random, but...Mariano Rivera will become the first Hall of Fame player to never have had a hit in the major leagues.
