2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Great analysis.

You would guess that in a game between BSU and NE, Bemidji will likely score their 2.5 goals. Also likely is that Northeastern's 4.8 goals/game output would be reduced vs BSU's stingier defense. Just can't know by how much. But a 3-3 game at the end of regulation is one of the likely possibilities.

Sounds like a close game to me, and a close ranking. I give the edge to defense and WCHA, so my gut is to put Bemidji slightly above Northeastern based on all this information. My rankings have had NE in the 8-10 range, never higher. I think they deserve a step up to the 7 spot based on what I've learned here.

Big Three in the 1, 2, 3 slots
Q, Clarkson, BSU, NE in the 4-7 slots
ND, Princeton, Colgate rounds out the rest

After watching tonight... maybe my 8 or 9 ranking for Northeastern was right after all.

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

Northeastern might be better than UND and/or BSU, but when it comes to goaltending, give me the All-Americans.

Please. BC has 20 goals in 3 straight games all against starting goalies with recent starts for Team USA or Hockey Canada at some level. The biggest beat down was against a former All-American. Mowat's been chased out of the nets in 8 and 7 goal beat downs too. That was BC's 9th game laying 7 goals or more on a team.

Northeastern lost so badly that they dragged Clarkson down with them?

The ECAC could be looking quite different after this weekend.

Q plays SLU and Clarkson this weekend. If both beat Q this weekend, I believe that Clarkson will take over 1st.

Q shows that when an offensive team like Colgate brings it, Q can be exposed.

So my hopes are an SLU and Clarkson win. Who knows, maybe just wishing.

I only regret that I have but one rep to give for this comment.

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

No changes in the top ten this week! What is this madness??

Only differences are that Harvard drops out from the t10 spot and Duluth grabs a vote.

How many non-snarky replies would you expect to see on this forum to even a mildly provocative post about losing your scoring next year? One in a hundred? This guy's about to enter the special twilight zone of a BC FF favorite, a zone strewn with nervous wrecks from the past, yet he manages to keep it light. Kudos to Mr.T up there on the Heights.

Re: 2015-2016 USCHO Posters Poll

I am just now seeing this poll and wondering how you came to these conclusions

Simple…from seeing UM & UW multiple times each I just feel UM is the better team (and that was before Kessel)… and frankly I feel both are slightly better than BC… However, given their record and more importantly the ease to which they have built it they have earned #1 spot. UMD I feel is the 5th best team in the WCHA and for that reason deserves to be in the top ten.
