2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

[strike]Ahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha!

Losing to Wisconsin doesn't feel so bad right now.[/strike]

Never mind. I fell for collegehockeystats.net posting a men's game box score in place of the BC women's game.

Heh

BC up 3-0 after 2, 28-9 shots. 4th line getting a lot of minutes again, BC playing well but on cruise control at this point. Maine's never really threatened.

EDIT: Oh my goodness Alex Carpenter with a goal to make it 4-0, she went down at the top of the slot, managed to keep the puck, gather it in, get up, and shoot while being defended.

After one period RPI leads Brown 1-0 and Union leads Yale 1-0.

What is the Final score of this game TTT? Haha

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Harvard loses a second straight OT game 2-1, this time to the Bobcats. We can't put the puck in the ocean.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

A nice, strong skating weekend for the Wildcats, as they complete the sweep of Merrimack with a 2-1 OT win....this gives them the 4 badly needed points to catapult over Maine, UConn, Providi, and UVM! Look out TTT.....to paraphrase Caddyshack," oh Dolly, we're hot today"!! UNH finishes the semester vs the ECAC with Dartmouth, Quinni and Yale up respectively......way to play hard Cats!

BSU 1 - UND 0 Final in a mega yawner. SOG UND 21 - BSU 16.

BSU only had 7 SOG after 2 periods! I guess they were saving themselves for the big push in the 3rd.

Only started to get interesting with UND's increased sense of urgency as the clock wound down late in the 3rd.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Somewhat old news, but:

Saturday: UConn come back from 4-1 down to tie BU 4-4
Sunday: BU scrape a win 4-3

The amusing thing is that although BU were clearly Chuli'ed on Saturday, in fact U Conn played Belanger on Saturday. Even the Chuli penumbra is strong. U Conn scored 7 goals in this series compared to the 8 they had scored in their previous 7 HE games this season. If this means they've worked out how to score, they should have a lock on home ice in HE and could be a nasty trap game for the better teams they face in the rest of the season (Northeastern, Princeton, BC). If it means BU have deeper problems in net than we realised, then BU better start recruiting goalies.

Tuesday night special...UNH takes down Dartmouth, 3-2........okay, now you can get some sleep......phew!

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Looking for thoughts on Harvard still being ranked number 8. 8-4-1, including losses to 3 unranked teams (Dartmouth, Princeton, UMD). 2-3 in their last 5 games. I'd actually have Princeton over them from the ECAC - same number of losses (only 2 to unranked opponents), 4-1 in last 5 games, and they just beat Harvard Seems like this ranking is based on Katey Stone and history, not current reality.

not that my opinion means anything. I think they're actually # 4. I don't know many teams rosters but I do know theirs...having seen several of them for years now. they have 2 really good lines and, like I said before, a goalie that when she "plays" is the best in the country.

they will be in NH come March.

so pretty much what he33 said. Not that they can't be in nh this spring but, by your own admission you really don't know the competition so you are just justifying your fan-based opinion. That's okay, heck it is down right required given the total lack of data points.

Very well could be, but do you rate them on future potential or 'what have you done for me lately'? All of those great players still have to prove they're great, on the ice against teams that might not have as much potential, come March.

knowing the teams here they are, on paper, the most talented than maybe one team. maybe.
they are better than UMD (saw them) and the rest of the west beats each other up.

just a prediction...from day one...same 4 in NH

You saw them split with UMD, small sample size. Then there were those losses to other unranked teams, also still a small sample but a pattern might be emerging. There is still plenty of season left and on paper they should be there but the game isn't played on paper and on ice they have those inexplicable losses.

Also, I don't necessarily agree that their roster is that strong, Their group of forwards is quite talented, but the defense is nowhere near the level of last season. Definitely some suspect players there.
