I just went through the USCHO poll archives. Since 1998, the oldest poll in the list, only three teams have ever entered the break with a perfect record:It'll be back-to-back seasons undefeated at the break. I don't remember that happening in the NCAA era.
Parity. That's nuts that there may be two this year...
Looking for thoughts on Harvard still being ranked number 8. 8-4-1, including losses to 3 unranked teams (Dartmouth, Princeton, UMD). 2-3 in their last 5 games. I'd actually have Princeton over them from the ECAC - same number of losses (only 2 to unranked opponents), 4-1 in last 5 games, and they just beat Harvard Seems like this ranking is based on Katey Stone and history, not current reality.
Not so much Colgate. They're a respectable team this year with a surprising amount of young talent. The real problem I have is they lost to RPI and Colgate. Those are head-scratchers.
I agree. There is no ranking system that has SLU above Colgate now, so if someone is thinking that the Saints are a quality team but the Raiders are not, then that person is basing too much on previous seasons. Not so much Colgate. Probably guilty. Sorry Colgate.
Now let's see how they react...
