2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

All that matters in the Pairwise is Ws and Ls and not the margin of victory. On that premise, the Beavers are taking care of business against teams not named Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The Beavers are having a good season. Hopefully they can pull an upset of the badgers if they meet in the playoffs.

How did the Gophers give up 3 goals on 17 shots to Yale?! The Gophers and Badgers better hope their goalies hold up come March. They are not being tested enough imo

What is up with Hockey East this year? BC, BU & Northeastern are good and the rest are just horrible. BU has a goal against issue that will cost them later on.

Again, my point about the margin of victory had to do with expectations. Everyone knows that when it comes to a team's official record, the league standings and the Pairwise all that matters is if you win or lose.

This wasn't on Leveille, for the most part, though I didn't have a good view of Yale's second goal. It was mostly on the penalty killers.

With 16 minutes to go, St. Cloud is looking for a four game winning streak, up 3-1 on Ohio State. I'm starting to think that they're problems with the Gophers, leading to such lopsided games, are psychological rather than physical.

SCSU doesn't match up well against Minnesota. The Huskies are usually a skating team, and Minnesota likes to play a skating game. You don't see SCSU doing as much packing the defense in around their own net. Sort of the opposite of teams like Bemidji and North Dakota seeming to have more problems against Wisconsin because of styles.

Beavers get the sweep and 6 pts. on the weekend. 3-1 the score in game 2 with the Mavericks.

Huskies also sweep with a 4-1 win over the Buckeyes today.

Well, I said there'd be a shake-up in the ECAC.

In the Northern New York "tourney", Princeton gets swept by unranked SLU and #4 Clarkson. Meanwhile, #8 QU looks dominant with an 8-0 combined score over the same teams. Me thinks the Quinny machine is starting to get in gear.

Scoreless after two at The Ralph. SOG 21-15 UND.

The 'Dogs taking it to the Fighting Hawks (I suspect the politically correct ornithologists will be up in arms about that) for a few minutes in the middle of the period and nearer the end but otherwise not playing with enough of a sense of urgency as far as I'm concerned. And yet, this is game is a coin toss just as last night's game was which would appear to bode well, generally speaking, for UMD.

Rooney stoning Dufault and another, unknown, Hawk point blank.

Lack of good support in the O zone for the 'Dogs. Need to be hungrier.

How does Northeastern go from 2014-15 Hockey East also-ran to Final Four contender? After observing this weekend, I think it's depth, goaltending, and Kendall Coyne letting everyone know that she is one of the best players in the country. 21 goals, 12 assists and +26 on the year. As Adam Sandler says, "not too shabby".

A very telling weekend series, for sure. Bobcats clearly establish their creds for ECAC leadership and Princeton might need to be thrown into the group of (now) 5 teams fighting for the last three playoff spots.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

UMD 1 - UND 0 Final. SOG 32 - 22 UND.

But it looked like the 'Dogs might find a way to lose, again, when they got called for too many women with 1:31 left in the game. As Dan Hammer the play by play guy said 'it's a black and white call but with 1:31 left in a 1-0 game it takes some stones to make that call".

The 'Dogs were fending off the 6 on 4 pressure rather well when Kolstad took a checking from behind penalty in the UMD end away from the play with 36 seconds left in the game. You figure Idalski was pleased with that?

The advantage ended and so did the game.

Nicole Hensley is on the bench, not in goal today for Lindenwood v Wisconsin.

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Lindenwood with 2 checking penalties and an interference in the first 15 minutes,

Wisconsin up 1-0 after 1.

SOG 21-6

Re: 2015-2016 Division I Women's Hockey Scores & Results

Penn State is ahead of St. Lawrence 2-1 six minutes into the second period, despite being outshot 21-5.
