Re: 2015-16 Oswego State Lakers Hockey #LakePlacidOrBust #NoMoreDrivesToAdrian #GoLak
Outside of the 1st period against Adrian, Oswego was either right with or clearly the better team (and no I don't care what the scoreboard says). Yes they've had some defensive breakdowns, but the problem isn't getting shots on goal, it's getting those shots behind the goal. I would be more concerned if Oswego was being outplayed in their games, this isn't happening. Relax and breathe. Getting into the SUNYAC playoffs is all that matters. Home or away, anyone who wants to take Oswego lightly will find themselves going home. Strictly looking at the W-L records sure Oswego looks mediocre. Their play and their talent (majority of the time) is not such of mediocrity.
As I said before, back in 2011 Plattsburgh was a .500 SUNYAC team. But it was a .500 SUNYAC team that was dominating opponents, just coming up on the losing end. Of their 8 loses that season, Plattsburgh was only outshot in 1 game (against Oswego). They were a +93 in shots in those loses. While Oswego isn't as dominating in their loses (on the shot clock at least at a +41 currently), just as I said above if Oswego was being outplayed night in night out I'd be worried.
An at-large bid has gone by the drainpipe. Get into the SUNYAC playoffs where everyone is 0-0-0.
I think time will tell if there is a trend supporting this theory or we got some guys that just dont fit with us. I think the latter. We are spoiled with our teams success; and it was bound to find bottom out sooner or later. Welcome to "later". Eddie will right the ship. Go Lakers.
