Fox 9 Sports feature (video) on Gopher recruit Taylor Williamson as she and her Edina team head to the State Tournament:

Edina's Taylor Williamson aims to cap remarkable season with state championship

No need for BC-like hyperbole but Minnesota does have a very nice group coming in next year to replace the outgoing seniors.

Fear of spiders is arachnophobia, fear of tight spaces is claustrophobia, fear of Taylor Williamson is called logic.

Sophie Skarzynski and Superman once fought each other on a bet. The loser had to start wearing his underwear on the outside of his pants.

Sarah Potomak can make snow angels in a concrete slab.

Okay...I'm done.

kind of like Keller? or will you westerners expound your Chuck Norris humor and go after her too
didn't Keller make the National Team?
Hopefully we'll meet in final...and finally put all the back and forth banter of what team is better to rest....either way.

it'll be great to see what a full house for a women's college game looks like. here's to hope

That's a good looking class we got coming in, but I don't see any Megan Kellers in there.

If the Gophers make the final I betcha it's a full house. If it's the Gophers vs BC it will even make the newspaper that day!

it took a loss to Harvard for BC to get on the Sports page with the Globe. pathetic coverage.

Way too low for a team as good as this - SIGH
Too many gray hairs & kids, not enough just fans of hockey. Nothing wrong with the crowd that does show up but it should contain an average of 1000 who are not at/near retirement or taking their little skaters out to watch the big girls play. Still makes me sad when we go on the road & see how many teams do even worse.

Volleyball and women's basketball outdraw women's hockey.

Why is that?

Is their audience made up of older people and little kids who play the game as well?

Why does it seems the girls quit coming to the games after they are 12 or 13 years old?

What would it take to get students out to the games?

Ah...actually I think there may be one of similar magnitude...but I'm a westerner so I could obviously be delusional.

simple
there is no men's volleyball, or boys at the HS level
hoops is a much more popular sport (notice I didn't say exciting, better, ....)

I could add another reason, but it would really start an argument, and I try to avoid STARTING arguments

At least one that shares the last name...

Delusional...Yes...However I like the fact that you did use CN humor on Williamson and then were asked if you were going to use it on her.

Believe me, I have been asking that question for several years now. Maybe the NHL is right in thinking there has to be fighting to get the mouth-breathers into the seats in order to fill an arena. The booster club has discussed ideas, heII we bought extra tickets & gave them away to friends & can't get them to come. While they are not as fast or powerful as the men the game is played at a higher speed because of the lack of interference and 'stick work'. There is solid defense and great play making, if you enjoy hockey this is the game you should be watching. Ridder sold out when the women where unbeaten but only a tiny percentage of those stuck around for another year.

Okay...I'm done.

I'm still waiting for your review of KP singing

with the acoustics of Ridder, kinda hard to tell
I was just wondering if she hit the notes as well as she hit Crossman

I'm not going to review KP singing, but I will review KC as cupid.

Her schtick was beautiful, she got Rachel Ramsey, Brad Frost and Sydney Baldwin to grin sheepishly in a great way. And then, the comic timing she had with Megan Wolfe wasn't quite Abbott and Costello but it was d*** close :)

On Feb 7 we drove up to Crookston to visit a niece going to school there. We took her to the GWH/NDak game and then out to eat afterwards. She was amazed by the skills of the players, but I don't expect her to go to another game. Why? She's working two jobs while also going to school full time. Heck, the waitress who joked she couldn't serve us dinner after the game because I was wearing a GWH shirt was from MN , also working her way through school. If you want strategies to get students to games, then back free tuition for all students or a higher minimum wage or something that allows them to have time to take in the games. Right now, they are all working too many hours in order to make ends meet. Sporting events don't even show up on their radar.
