Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

6-0 BC after 2, BC absolutely firing on all cylinders today. 0 points from the top line. Hellooooooooo

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

BC wins 6-0, WAY better game.

SLU ties Union???

Cornell tops Quinnipiac in OT

Harvard beats Yale 6-1

UMD/Wisco and NoDak/Minny are both tied 0-0 midway

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

NoDak scores two quick near the end of the 2nd. First a shorty. Two nice goals. NoDak now on a PP less than two to go in the 2nd.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

North Dakota outplaying the Gophers second half of the period. Leading 2-0 they are on the power play and then Sam LaShomb acting totally in character takes a checking from behind penalty for NoDak.

Gophers will be on power play shortly into the 3rd. Wouldn't mind seeing some more effectiveness from the Gophers top two lines!

Penn State defeats Lindenwood 3-2. Nicole Hensley really kept Lindenwood in a game that wasn't as close as the score makes it sound.

North Dakota played a better 60 minutes of hockey than did Minnesota in winning 3-0.

Wow I never, ever, ever, EVER would have seen that coming after this happened ...
When you beat Harvard by eight, you weren't expecting to lose to the Crimson in the Beanpot either. ;)

Well played, given that I am absolutely worried that that might happen -- it's been a long time since then and both teams are playing differently (i.e. pretty much exactly your point RE: Minnesota and North Dakota)

Lindenwood outshot PSU 15-1 in the 3rd. If anyone kept anyone in the game it was Whitlinger. I believe a little success has made the Penn State people 'Legends in their own minds'.

Penn State regularly gets outshot, so that doesn't tell any stories. Penn State had quite a few good chances in the first that a lot of goalies wouldn't have stopped. They got lazy in the third, being up 3-1.

And I don't think BU was expecting to get croaked by seven goals on Tuesday night after outplaying the Crimson in November despite the 1-1 tie. But that's what happened and it goes to show that November results have zero bearing on what happens in February. Or March. Unfortunately, some on this board still cling to that notion.

"Zero bearing" is an overstatement. And BU has demonstrated that it can be inconsistent from day to day, not just November to February -- see Vermont.

Not where Harvard is concerned. They are a much different team from November and that was my point. You can't take what happens at the beginning of the season and make a determination on what that team is or is going to be going forward. Too much can happen in a couple of months.

Every team is different from November to February. I get that Harvard has come a long way, but other teams improve as well. Sometimes teams learn from tough outings; other times, they repeat them. Given teams play so few games, we can't entirely throw some of them away and pretend they didn't happen. Harvard lost as recently as a week ago, so I'm guessing it is still a work in progress, as are all teams until their seasons end.
