So glad to report that UNH finally got the offense going, being in the right place, and beating UVM, 5-1 today at Lake Whitt.....

Impressive. Nice day for the rookie D Fedeski.

Maine raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first 7 minutes, but Brown scored the next four to take a 4-3 lead with 13 minutes to go in the 3rd period.

Shocked and impressed that Brown was able to sweep Maine, even more impressed by today's comeback. Maybe there is some hope for this team after all.

On a related but different note, very tough collegiate start for last season's two Assabet Valley U19 goalies. Landry (Brown) with .745 save percentage and two quick pulls. Wolejko (SLU) with .872 save percentage not including a shelling by McGill in an exhibition. Classic question as to whether playing goal for Assabet is really a good thing because you rarely get many shots - but they have had some good ones as well - so tough to say.

Final: Syracuse 4 Mercyhurst 1

Can we FINALLY drop Mercyhurst from the rankings?

It would be easier if there was a team (like VT) to move into the top 10. It was another close game with SU getting two EN. Winner of OSU v Mercyhurst on Tues gets my top 10 vote
Top 3 all by themselves, lots of parity from 7 on down.

Wolejko was also responsible for the shelling SLU took at Brown. Three of the 4 goals she gave up were incredibly soft. Based on those two performances, it would be surprising if she saw more opportunities this season.

Brown is actually better than I expected, though still not a potential playoff team. I think they have potential to finish as high as 9 though I'd initially thought they'd likely be in the basement. Donovan and S Swanstrom are rookies making an early impact, and better than this team's attracted in recent years.

I'm kind of at a loss now to understand how Maine had done as well as they have against some other teams

Sam Donovan was one of 5 finalists for Minnesota high school "Ms Hockey" last year. She's 5'2" tall. Even in women's hockey, I guess lack of size will get you dismissed by evaluators at the next level. An inch or 2 taller I bet she'd be playing for Minnesota or Wisconsin or one of the powerhouses.

More power to Brown and Ms Donovan.

Dartmouth 5 - SLU 1 (including 2 EN goals for Dartmouth)

Goals for Dartmouth by Forfar, Odland, and hat trick by Allen; Marks for SLU

Interestingly, SLU again did not play MacDonald in net for 2nd game in a row--backup Thompson was between the pipes. Is MacDonald possibly injured???

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Ok...but they didn't actually score an empty netter since it was their net that was empty. You had me thinking BU pulled their goalie with the lead and Yale scored!!

whoops-a-daisy

That was me, somebody's net was empty!

BC and Vermont scoreless after a period. (Offensive crisis for BC.)

Connecticut 1, Providence 0 with 35 seconds left in the first.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

BC up 3-1 after two periods.

Providence up 3-1 late in the second.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

Providence up 3-1 late in the second.
According to the live box score, UConn has three third-period goals on two shots.

EDIT: Oh, I guess they are putting some of the third-period data into the second period. Whoops!

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

BC wins 4-2. Providence and Connecticut going to overtime tied at 4.

Re: 2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

BC looked absolutely out of gas that whole game. They get a VERY well earned few days of rest.
