2014-2015 Division I Scores & Results Thread

BC wins 4-2. Providence and Connecticut going to overtime tied at 4.

I thought Providence might finally get their first win today, when up 3-1 over UConn. Must have deflated them badly when Uconn then scored 3 straight goals. Narrowly avoided yet another loss by scoring an extra attacker goal with 4 sec left in the game. Providence held on to claim a point in OT with 4-4 tie.

Wolejko was also responsible for the shelling SLU took at Brown. Three of the 4 goals she gave up were incredibly soft. Based on those two performances, it would be surprising if she saw more opportunities this season.

Brown is actually better than I expected, though still not a potential playoff team. I think they have potential to finish as high as 9 though I'd initially thought they'd likely be in the basement. Donovan and S Swanstrom are rookies making an early impact, and better than this team's attracted in recent years.

I'm kind of at a loss now to understand how Maine had done as well as they have against some other teams

Don't follow as closely as I might like. As to Bruins- did see recent loss to UConn. Puzzled me as they then so overpowered SLU- esp. the five (5) goals in the third period (against SLU) as you analyze. Maybe, too- will the real, genuine St Lawrence Univ. women's ice hockey team please stand up? To me this five goals for Brown sent a message- but more as to Brown. Brown University's women's ice hockey may yet here be back in business which business they have not been back in for many, many a m o o n!

Well- I'd like to see that.

To say they overpowered SLU is not at all accurate. SLU outshot them 41-22, and dominated puck possession during the game. It's certainly a credit to Elvin for Brown, who played well in net. The tale of this game lies in 7 goals for Brown (including an EN) on only 22 shots. The back-up goalie who was given the start played very poorly, and was eventually pulled in the 3rd period after a series of soft goals. She really should have been pulled earlier. MacDonald was brought in cold in the 3rd period. The fact that she then got virtually no work, with SLU completely dominating possession, was no doubt an issue. Brown only got 3 shots on her. While I wouldn't say the 2 goals scored on her were particularly soft, I would think she would normally have been able to save at least one if she had any kind of action. But at that point it really didn't matter anyway.

Final MERCYHURST 3 -0 OHIO STATE
unofficial shots 16 - 16
Ohio State with 5 on 3 advantages as well as
5 minute major against HURST. OS couldn't get any shots

Ohio State power play is completely ineffective. Mercyhurst had better chances shorthanded. Solid game by Mercyhurst as they did not give the Buckeyes any room on the ice.

Early in the third period, Northeastern leads BU 4-1. Coyne with two goals so far (one short-handed) and an assist.

FINAL Northeastern 6, BU 3.

Wild third period. Northeastern went up 5-1, BU closed the lead to 5-3, but Coyne scored an empty-netter to complete her hat trick.

Pick out one word and beat me over the head with it. Hmm. What's up with that. I wasn't disputing YOUR reply to thread. Ouch. Try a little tenderness. Like I am perhaps here? Such as- "I was there, Pap and it wasn't at all that way- sorry. Here is my take..." No?

P.S. though- thanks for your analysis!

FINAL: Wisconsin 8, Minnesota State 2. Pankowski with the hat trick. The Badgers outshot the Mavs 67-14. Erin Krichiver made 59 saves, including stopping a penalty shot in the second period, but she had only 15 dressed skaters in front of her (10F, 5D -- not sure what was up with that).

I do believe Ammerman missed the net high and wide to the blocker side on the penalty shot. I thought it was kind of a weak effort on her part. It was also a weak weak call period. I've seen WAY worse not get called at all. It was nice to get to play a BC type opponent for once instead of these otherwise hard fought WCHA games.

Don't worry - you'll get two more shots in a couple weeks:p

Trillium (or anyone else) Are you watching the Colgate - Yale stream? I have a fuzzy still shot and audio. When I refresh, I get a new fuzzy still, but no video:(

Good to have audio, but the play by play is curious. Whole lot of snagging and line up changes going on!Sounds like she's used to calling chess matches.
