To say they overpowered SLU is not at all accurate. SLU outshot them 41-22, and dominated puck possession during the game. It's certainly a credit to Elvin for Brown, who played well in net. The tale of this game lies in 7 goals for Brown (including an EN) on only 22 shots. The back-up goalie who was given the start played very poorly, and was eventually pulled in the 3rd period after a series of soft goals. She really should have been pulled earlier. MacDonald was brought in cold in the 3rd period. The fact that she then got virtually no work, with SLU completely dominating possession, was no doubt an issue. Brown only got 3 shots on her. While I wouldn't say the 2 goals scored on her were particularly soft, I would think she would normally have been able to save at least one if she had any kind of action. But at that point it really didn't matter anyway.
