Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

The problem with Maine is the uneducated rednecks (aka the Deep South of the North), not democrats.
On Monday's TDS Stewart referred to Maine as "the Arkansas of New England." :D

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part III: October Surprise!

Then why do they believe the numbers when it's 8+%? Of the 11+% number that Romney is throwing out?

You can't have it both ways. It's funny how percentages always work for Republicans except when it applies to taxes or anything else they don't like.

I have no idea why they believe that. Quite frankly, the only data I trust regarding employment is the data that is constitutionally required to be taken of each person in the country. That's right, the census.

The issue with the obviously bogus unemployment numbers is that it was 8.3 - 8.4 percent for so long, then took an instant dive to 7.8 a few weeks before the election. It's laid out in the editorial pretty well how this can happen, but the telling point is that the economy would have to have grown at about a 20% annual rate to add those jobs. These are most certainly not boom times.
It might be time to admit that the corruption continues unabated under either party.

As bogus as Mitt Romney building new ships and subs without borrowing from China.

With those talking about Mittens being a flip-flopper, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
Such posters are flip-floppers themselves. One moment they're decrying Romney's supposed kowtowing to the radical right, staking out positions far to the right. Next they're claiming he flip-flops on issues. Those two don't mix well, at least for thinking people.

My post is not a flip flop at alll. I liked mitts positions when I voted for him for governor... So he is either flip flopping, evolving, or lying... And now it appears he is doing it again. I want to know which it is.

Mr. "I didn't vote for Obama last time," strikes again, and again, and again.

Give it up, Bunky.

I'm not sure how pointing out Mitt's flip-flopping is itself flip-flopping. Part of the worry with Mitt is he is such an empty vessel that he will be filled up with the liquid of whatever decanter happens to be next to him at a given moment. So there is real danger that if he has lunch with John Bolton we'll be invading Iran by dinner. At the same time those same thinking people are aware that it's hypocritical and humorous for the right to be calling him a Strong Leader and a Man of Principle when, at CPAC in 2008, they were parodying him as this:

Mitt is BOTH a flip-flopper AND a risk of radical policies, in the same way that an adolescent has BOTH a short attention span AND the risk of wrecking the family car.

It's impossible to tell whether he was lying to the right to get the nomination, lying to the center to win the general election, or lying both times. The only thing we know about Romney with certainty is he has POTUS on his bucket list.

Wonder how ****ed off China would get if we turned around and started selling them for profit to Taiwan?
Probably not at all, since China will eventually just annex Taiwan and get both the money and the subs.

I wasn't referring specifically to you. Just the general trend I observe of some people (not you) complaining both that he's a flip-flopper and kowtowing to the "radical" right, a glaring inconsistency.
