To be honest I won't lose any sleep with either of them in the White House.
They're both smart. I think they're both hard workers.
Neither of them strike me as an individual who will get rattled under pressure.
Obama has a sort of cool, measured calmness. Romney strikes me as someone who, when it comes to finding solutions will just work the problem until he comes up with a plan.
They both seem to have great families, which tells me they must be doing something right. Neither strikes me as the type who will be a handpuppet for someone behind the scenes, nor the type who are going to get themselves into stupid situations that provide easy distractions for the public, press and opposition.
They both strike me as pragmatic. That is, if it becomes necessary to re-negotiate, to modify a previous position or promise, or to simply compromise because one half loaf is better than none at all, it's pretty clear both will do that. A willingness to do that, as opposed to a dogmatic, inflexible "my way or the highway" approach is something that's lacking in politics.
I'm going to pick one, because that's what we do. But those who claim the sky will fall if their candidate doesn't win is nuts. We could do a heck of a lot worse than either of these two.
