2012 Presidential Election Part 4

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

Of course both candidates promise a bunch of stuff they won't/can't do. True of both candidates, though Obama has a 4-year record of not keeping promises, something Romney doesn't have, yet. That's nothing new, though it seems to get worse every go around. I remember saying in 2008 that one problem McCain had was that he was promising some stuff, but not nearly as much as Obama, and the voting public wants to be promised all sorts of goodies.

I just have found you very sympathetic to Obama every step of the way in recent years. If you're waking up out of that stupor finally, kudos to you!

So, you're angry with Obama cause he didn't keep his promises while at the same time you're angry with McCain that he didn't promise enough to get elected?

I see why your in love with Mitt now. It makes perfect sense.

Stop hallicinating. Never said I was angry with McCain. Just made an observation that if he had promised more goodies, the public would have liked him better. If anything, I respect that about McCain, but it did work against him in the election, where Obama promised basically everything to everybody. You misunderstood what I said.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

I just hope people who vote for Romney on the basis of fiscal responsibility realize how much he actually seems to want to spend.

Don't count on him to lessen the deficit, folks.

I look at it this way. One guy has shown us for four years he has no interest in fiscal responsibility. So that's 100 percent known quantity that he won't do anything. With Romney, there's at least a small possibility something could happen. So, the odds aren't good either way, but a small chance is better than no chance.

You'll have to show us where Obama is promising an additional $7T in borrowing above and beyond what's already happening. Feel free to tell us how he's going to pay for all this, because I'd love to hear it.

I've been waiting weeks for someone to explain it to me. No one will. They won't even tell me why questions on Romney's Tax Plan were biased towards Obama during last nights debate.

He's already spending over a trillion a year he doesn't have and it's only going to get worse. The math is pretty easy.

To put it simply:

There are some extenuating circumstances here. Namely: the 2009 figures should be ignored as far as Obama's concerned, as I believe those would include the money from the Bank bailout that was orchestrated during the 2008 election cycle (remember when Obama and McCain canceled a debate to deal with that?). Sure, things have gone down since then, but it's quite amazing how it much of a shadow it casts on even George W. Bush's entire presidency.

That said: Romney isn't exactly looking to improve upon this, from what I've seen.

An homage to Mitt's wish that he was Latino.

You're kneejerk defending is kicking in again. See why I don't believe you?

On the question, Obama doesn't get grilled in four years of actual fiscal irresponsibility, yet Romney takes far more heat for mere proposals he's put on the table. But, hey, the media does it the way you like, protecting your candidate, so I don't expect you to say anything different.

There's no crying in politics Bob, so get over it. Romney is tripling down on the Bush II policies that got us those massive debts that offend you so much. How is that a good thing?

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

Haven't seen such a promise. You're sticking to Obama's talking points well though.

Are you blind?

Additional Spending:
20% Tax Cut across the board.
Keeping the Bush Tax Cuts
Keeping the Capital Gains Rates
2 Trillion more in defense spending
Cutting the Corporate Tax Rate
Eliminating the Estate Tax

Cuts:
PBS (Big Bird)
Planned Parenthood

Net: 7-8T in additional spending.

All promises made by Mitt Romney.

Keep spouting Obama's talking points Mr. "I'm no supporter of Obama and don't vote for him"

More debt isn't a good thing by anyone. But your exaggerations aren't good either.

Re: 2012 Presidential Election Part 4

How are they Obama's talking points when they came out of Mitt Romney's mouth?
Now you're just getting confused. Stick to your talking points. Remember. If you can attack Romney enough, people may forget how poorly your president has done these last four years.

I'm not confused. You are. You don't even know what your beloved Romney is promising.
