You had to take it to the next level, didn't you? (Waiting on the hookup for the 2nd box, hence a video game on the 2nd tv).

If you use a splitter you can at least get most cable channels on the other...no HD without the box though...

Have the splitter, but I will settle for nothing but the best. Actually, I have a splitter that is connected to a splitter, due to the dual boxes, plus modem and router.

Where did they get these replacement refs? Are they college refs? Or was it like a temp job and any person could apply? Because I can't see how these refs were good refs at whatever level they worked at.

As much as a buffoon I think he is, kudos to Rex Ryan for his weight loss. Good for him.

So did everyone hear that Mark Sanchez is dating Eva Longoria???

glad to see nbc considers themselves a business partner of the nfl and not a news source. just showed the redman run for the stillers when his knee was down in the backfield, then ran for 8 yds and fumbled.... but the refs after review allowed the play to stand. no mention whatsoever on the events of the play. good job dan patrick!! good job.

The ref for tonight's Lions vs. Niners game is a college ref, having worked NAIA games before this year.

All of the refs this season come from D-II or D-III conferences. I'm guessing these guys are making more in a single NFL game than they did all season last year - maybe even in their entire careers before this year.

I think we'll see the officiating get better as the season goes on, since they'll start getting used to the speed of the pro game vs. what they are used to.

I'd imagine that they'd have to do tape review sessions with the league, too. They need to get sharper on some of the penalty recognitions. In some cases they're staring right at the infraction and just not realizing that the guys are breaking NFL rules. It's like they're still trying to call a college game at times.

I hope they figure out a way to make it work long-term with the replacements. The officials are already way overpaid, it would be great to see the league break the union.
