Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

I'd agree with you if the gametime wasn't set at 8 pm on a Sunday night by the NCAA numbnuts. BU might be better given their locality to Worcester and the gametime. But I have no idea how willing or unwilling Maine fans would be to come all the way down and basically blow any chance at sleep on a Sunday night before work on Monday morning.

no snide comment on those maine fans and where they would be working on monday morning? i'm speechless... i, i don't know how to respond here carmine!! :D

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Maine is going to go to Worcester. Attendance will bring them there and put BU in Bridgeport.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Again, I had a problem with the YATC software on CHN.

My projections above should look exactly like CHN, except I am not sure about BU/Maine - who is in Worcester and who is in St Paul.

Worcester : 1) BC v 16) Air Force ;; 7) UMD v 9) BU or 10) Maine
Green Bay : 2) Michigan v 13) Cornell ;; 6) Ferris v 12) Denver
Bridgeport : 3) Union v 15) MSU ;; 5) Miami v 11) Lowell
St Paul : 4) UND v 14) WMU ;; 8) Minnesota v 10) Maine or 9) BU

With Miami and Ferris also possibly swapping places. Sorry for the confusion above.

Looks solid. The only thing I question is Michigan v Cornell. If it holds I like DU's chances to advance.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

You make a good point regarding the game time and Maine supporters.........and numbnuts is an appropriate way to describe those who scheduled an 8pm game time on a Sunday.

It's not like anything else was going on at the DCU Center earlier in the day. You had one western game a timezone away. So why put the eastern game on later? I don't get it. Typical NCAA.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

Worcester
1 BC 15 MSU
7 UMD 10 Maine

St. Paul
2 Michigan 16 Air Force
8 UM 9 BU

Bridgeport
3 Union 14 WMU
6 Ferris State 11 DU

Green Bay
4 UND 13 Cornell
5 Miami 12 Mass-Lowell

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

sending BU to ST Paul gives integrity to the 8-9 matchup
Not hosting in Worcester will send them out

If you put AFA v BC, which seems pretty solid, then the only way is Mich v Cornell. Can't have them against MSU or WMU because it's the same conference. I am starting to wonder if the best attendance wouldn't come from Lowell going to St Paul and both BU and Maine staying in the east. Some eastern fan help me, please.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

from the frozen 4 i know a few maine fans. sleep will not be an issue; especially after the east playoff game. maine wants more.

Re: 2012 NCAA Tournament: Bracketology

I kind of hope Maine stays East. But getting BC's bracket will be no picnic for anyone. The Eagles will be in Tampa.

Crossposted from another thread - my guess.

1s: BC, Mich, Union, ND
2s: Miami, Ferris, Duluth, MN
3s: BU, ME, DU, UML
4s: Cornell, WMich, MSU, AFA

Minnesota is the only host to worry about. They should be in BC's regional for bracket integrity, but that won't happen. I'll put them in Michigan's bracket. So . . .

St. Paul: (2) Michigan and (8) MN
Green Bay: (4) North Dakota and (5) Miami
Worcester: (1) BC and (7) Duluth
Bridgeport: (3) Union and (6) Ferris

(9) & (16) should be the top regional. (10) & (15) in the 2nd, (11) & (14) in the 3rd and (12) & (13) in the 4th. That gives us:

St. Paul: (2) Michigan v (15) Michigan State and (8) MN v (10) ME
Green Bay: (4) ND v (13) Cornell and (5) Miami v (12) UML
Worcester: (1) BC v (16) AFA and (7) Duluth v (9) BU
Bridgeport: (3) Union v (14) WMich and (6) Ferris v (11) DU

Problems: first round CCHA matchup in StPaul and a brutal Bridgport regional.

You can't swap 15 and 14, because they're both CCHA. So I'll swap 15 and 13.

St. Paul: (2) Mich v (13) Cornell and (8) MN v (10) ME
GB: (4) ND v (15) MSU and (5) Miami v (12) UML
Worcester: (1) BC v (16) AFA and (7) Duluth v (9) BU
Bridgeport: (3) Union v (14) WMich and (6) Ferris v (11) DU

I can't swap Maine and DU because of Minnesota, so I'll swap UML and DU and hope that UML travels.

St. Paul: (2) Mich v (13) Cornell and (8) MN v (10) ME
GB: (4) ND v (15) MSU and (5) Miami v (11) DU
Worcester: (1) BC v (16) AFA and (7) Duluth v (9) BU
Bridgeport: (3) Union v (14) WMich and (6) Ferris v (12) UML
