2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

Re: 2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

Never take it for granted Eagleshockeyrules, BC must be ready to expect anything FS will throw at them to win. Have you not learn?

Look back at all the disappointments we've had in recent memory. Certainly AFA is a good example, we expected them to walk all over them on the scoreboard and we only won 2-0. UMass gave us a tough series too. CC and MSU are great examples why not to get overconfident over an opponent in a 1 takes all format.

Seniors like Tommy Cross and Carey will see this through and do everything to win and hopefully bring back the trophy.

I disagree. BC wins a 5th tomorrow night easily, 7 - 2. Ferris gives it a valiant effort, but no one can beat this BC team.

Sounds like you are banging on the door to join a rather large club of juggernauts who turned into just nots.

I'm certainly not as confident as that guy. 2007 has scarred me for life.

I think the likelihood of this kind of outcome greatly exceeds the likelihood of a '2007' kind of outcome. In 2007, MSU played precisely the kind of game needed to beat BC. What kind of game, exactly, is 'needed' to beat BC this year, and does FSU have that kind of game in them?

Focus on defense and don't allow any oddman rushes. Clog the passing lanes so BC can't flip those passes in front of the net for easy goals. Go for home run passes and try to catch BC's defense napping. Basically, try to bore the crap out of everyone watching the game and win 1-0 / 2-1.

Possible but improbable.

Stop BC's breakout, and you MAY have a game. The way I see it, BC destroys FS, 4-0 (FS's goalie stands on his head in the process).

BC's breakout is amazing. Every *ing time they could bring it out of the zone, I swear. They MAY make a mistake, once....maybe twice. And you better make them pay for it.

A co-worker who is rather unfamiliar with hockey asked about the game last night. I simply stated, "Men vs boys." He asked, "That bad?" I nodded and quietly said, "Yes. It was domination." :(

Ferris State. I hate the way BC plays and the fact they get the best recruits, etc. , nobody will really care besides the team and a few hundred BC hockey fans. To Ferris State it will be the world, and God bless them and good luck. Slay the boring dragon.

A few hundred fans? LOL. Boring? This is one of the dumbest posts I've ever read on here. Ya, them bc eagles play just like the old new jersey devils! Have been doing so the entire time under york. Sigh.

With both teams playing the trap I wonder if Ferris will try to slow the play down making the neutral zone really murky. I can't believe Ferris keeps it close but anything can happen.

LOL you just can't give this up, can you? Let it go. How many bc games did you see this year?

Who the bleep is unscarred76? What a putz...

As for the game, big props to ferris for what they've been able to do defensively in the tourney. As a bc fan, I always go into games like this expecting a close game. To me, predicting a team to win by 5 is foolish. Yes, I know it just happened and I know what the scores have been in bc's last five FF games, but none of that matters. BC still needs to go out and take care of business.

They will. And this is no sandbag. My jaw was dropped most of the gameon Thursday.

I'd give it 60/40 in favor of BC, not the 90/10 I'm seeing in the commentary. I predict FSU plays tough and consistent throughout and that it's a low scoring game. BC needs to bring it or they will lose.

Ferris is terrific in their own zone. I'm sure they'll show up and make it a game.

Still, BC pulls away late and wins 4-1, with an ENG.

Tangentially related: The way York handled losing in '06 and '07 convinced me that he's a classy guy. He forced his players to come back on the ice and salute their fans after a tough loss in '06, and let the clock run off without griping about it in '07.

Anyone who wants to bet against a Catholic school on Easter weekend should just donate what they would bet to their church. With all due respect to Ferris - a mighty accomplishment to get to this game - God is on BC's side tonight. :)

"BIG SHOCK AT FROZEN FOUR
'PUCK RESURRECTION' STILL NOT UNDERSTOOD

Tampa -- Dozens of college hockey fans around the nation were stunned Saturday night, when a seemingly miraculous "puck resurrection" brought a Boston College team back to life and propelled them to a 4-3 overtime vicory in the NCAA's national hockey championship game.

Ferris State had scored what looked to be the winning goal in a crazy scrum in front of BC's net. After the mayhem and the crowd screaming, everyone went home. Everyone except BC trainer Mary M. Agdalene, who noticed that the BC goalie was still stuffed in the net. She went to console him, but when she rolled the goalie away, she was shocked to discover that the net was empty."

You could probably do more with this. :o
