2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

Re: 2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

To a very large degree, BC has had a habit of playing VERY well in NHL-type buildings...even subtracting Boston's TD Garden from the mix.

Tonight's dose of tArrogance (thanks to whichever poster DID write it down/take a picture because I didn't give a f*):

This is correct. Thursday is not a weekend, and there isn't a consolation game on Saturday.

And MN wins both days anyways.

Funny how a Minnesota fan got the bit, and nary a BC dolt caught it. So, not only are we better at them in hockey, we're also smarter than them! :D

Re: 2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

They run the same type of trap as Pittsburgh... the trap style they run at times is not exciting. There is a distinction.

Jerry York disagrees:

“To be perfectly honest,” York said, “they reflect our team. They skate very well, they compete well, they’ve had good goal tending. We play to win, we don’t trap, we don’t sit back and say, ‘Hey, if we can get to the third period and get a break, we can win a game.’ We’re gonna try to win a game early. So it’s gonna be really interesting match-up.”

Yes, they do. It may not be a 1-3-1 trap, but they trap. Almost every team does, but BC traps much more than Minnesota does. BC was trapping heavily against Duluth.

No, there's only one. They wear maroon and gold and manage to make it look good, unlike some other teams out there.

After seeing BC's jerseys from the region final, I'm not so sure about that. :p

Of course, that would be "smarter than THEY" (so perhaps you really aren't)... :D

This is from a nice profile this morning on WBUR (NPR). Yes, that's WBUR. Since Bill Littlefield tends to focus on underappreciated and under-the-radar sports stories, not sure what that says about our sport.

Are Boston Eagles on the endangered species list? If not, they will be in Florida... ;)

I have to agree with mnstate on this one and his example is 100% spot on. BC does trap!!

Re: 2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

Why aren't you coaching a major D-1 program? Clearly you know more than Jerry York. What are you doing with your life?

He clearly understands the game of hockey unlike other people around here he witnessed BC playing the trap against UMD. Minnesota Wild fans witnessed the trap during the Jaques Lemaire years we can spot it from a mile away.

Re: 2012 Frozen Four: Union vs. Ferris State; Minnesota vs. Boston College

So we are all in agreement BC does trap?;)
