Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

And I'm curious who you all would vote for? and why?

Sarah Palin = raise taxes on oil (all) companies.
Ron Paul = decriminalize pot, get rid of private bankers power, budget etc

For me:
Obama/Paul tie (Obama social moderation, Paul foriegn policy/debt)
Romney (remaining non-crazy)
Maybe Huntsman

Did Palin say that?

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

I am confused...WeWantMore told us all that Bachmann was not a major candidate and would never sniff the nomination. Are you saying he/she was wrong again?

BTW it is going to be funny if Perry gets the nomination. I can see the soundbytes already when he is asked how someone who threatened to secede from the Union because of the Federal Government wants to now be the HEAD of the Federal Government. Obama would carve him up in a debate. Someone could have some real fun and talk about how it is the Non-American from Kenya vs. the Former American from Texas :D

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

And Donald Trump was never a candidate either.

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

As far as Obama carving Perry up in a debate, never underestimate the power of derp. Gore destroyed Dubya in their debates, and because it was a college professor against a moron who happened to have a southern accent, half the country thought it was "about even."

Perry's got a great shot at the nomination, and in the general any Republican, let alone a good ol' boy, starts with 45% of the vote.

And that'll happen again. And Perry will win the election because he's the kind of guy you can have a beer with out on the porch with the june bugs.

2012 has that many fewer angry, impotent wanna be slave owners than 2000, and Obama is a much sharper pol than Gore. OTOH, the economy is much worse and oh noes messicans and gayz.

It's a toss-up. We'll see just how freaky Perry gets when he's pushed by the Bachmann, Santorum dip****s.

I watched those debates...Gore destroyed no one. It was the usual BS rhetoric and he lacked any charisma. If Gore wasn't a walking piece of lumber he would have destroyed Bush II in the election. As it was he bored people to death so no one even noticed. The only reason half of the people knew who was running was because of SNL.

The middle is swayed by whoever makes them feel inspired, and some guy who was taped saying he wants Texas to leave the Union won't do that. You guys can Chicken Little this all you want it won't happen. Bachmann can despite her having the crazy eyes, but Perry I highly doubt.

Now in 2016 against a normal Dem...he could wipe the floor with them.

Is there a correlation between debating skill and presidential performance?

Somebody should come up with a graph of it. :p

Maybe. They ought to both correlate with intelligence. The converse certainly turned out to be true.

Yes...if you sound good you get elected. You get elected you win. You win, your performance is good.

See: Obama, Barack

From the Badger state

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Prosser, the man who called the Chief Justice a “bi#ch” while threatening to destroy her and went on to be re-elected after a dubious election of “found votes”, has allegedly choked his colleague Justice Ann Walsh Bradley during discussions surrounding the union-busting bill last week.

Justice Prosser, who ran his re-election campaign as “complement” to Walker, was also a former Republican legislator and Assembly Speaker. Last week, before announcing their 4-3 decision that overturned county Judge Sumi’s void on the collective bargaining law that was passed in clear and documented violation of Open Meeting Laws, Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson let her written dissent speak to the partisan nature of the hasty court ruling, which took place just eight days after hearing oral arguments.

Abrahamson is, of course, the “bi#ch” Prosser said he would “destroy”. Prosser justified his actions by accusing the two female justices, Abrahamson and Bradley, of being “manipulative.” During debate centering on the overturning of Judge Sumi’s void last week, Bradley asked Prosser to leave her office. He responded by putting his hands around her neck.

If being manipulative is justification for choking, one has to wonder why no one has yet assaulted Justice Prosser or his “complements”. Maybe because in a civilized society, we don’t put our hands around the necks of ideological opponents.

Bachmann told Faux News she has a "titanium spine"

I don't think I can express how bad this feels. We have effing animals running the state now, and they all know that their backs are covered. They can and will do anything, all with no repercussions. And we're just getting started. Christ.

When are the first recall elections? They're coming up soon, aren't they?

In the future, there will be no permanent political offices. The state diagram will just alternate between "campaign" and "recall." ;)

Re: 2012 Elections Part I: All Politics is Yokel

So...no fewer than three of the candidates for the GOP nomination say they were personally told by God to run.

For future reference,

is not God.
