I didn't mean to hint that I'd prefer Sharia Law rule. I meant that I don't think it has a snowball's chance of ever gaining a foothold here anyway, so it doesn't pay to fret about in regards to yer average Muslim citizen.

perhaps, if you don't like "'Merica" ... try China, the Sudan, Russia, any of the 'stan countries, perhaps Saudi Arabia, Yemen, most of South America, Indonesia, and Mongolia. you all need a bigger world view. yeah, we got *******s (skinheads, anarchists, etc) but we are still free ... economically, politcally, socially, culturally, sxually, racially than any other country on earth. if you want to diss on that, fine,

the usual suspects, NY Times, Harold Koh, some judge in New jersey who thinks its ok to rape your wife. I wouldn't exactly call it trying to implement Sharia law.

I agree that Martian Law has little chance of gaining a foothold in America, but I think the more important question is whether any of the illegal alien Martians will recieve in-planet tuition in Texas.

I can't quite wrap my head around how Sharia law could creep into the US, but the UK probably thought the same thing 30 years ago and it is definitely gaining some traction there - especially in the areas of family law, etc. So, while I don't lie awake at nights worrying about Sharia law, it is (always) worth remaining vigilant to ensure that our country remains true to its values of equality under the law and neutrality toward all religions (including atheism). Anyone who exploits Sharia law as a scare tactic to gain political points is as disgusting to me as those who would actually impose it.
