2012 Elections - Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death....

I'd never say such a thing about those I vehemently disagree with, but some of us have to fight the battle for intolerance, losing battle though it may be.
Corrected.

Re: 2012 Elections - Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death....

I haven't seen major laws/court rulings/controversy about magic underwear or Mars, but I'm open to being corrected if you can corroborate this. Again, like with 5mn, you're comparing apples and oranges. You take 100 people, and the level of interest they'll have, whether liberal or conservative, in gay marriage will be way being their interest in your issue of magic underwear and Mars. (claptrap snipped)
So your argument is that a politician must go on record with his personal views on an issue that has a high political profile. Before we proceed, is that correct?

You couldn't illustrate my point better if I paid you. Seriously, you're starting to look like my surrogate.

Really? Well then, try to make your points clearer for those of us in the peanut gallery. Any reference, by anybody, to "magic underwear" is religious bigotry, pure and simple. And coming from people who rush to the barricades whenever an anti-Muslim sentiment is expressed, strikes me as spectacularly hypocritical.

LDS religious practices and customs (or any religion's for that matter) are not appropriate subjects for snarking, IMO.

Now we'll hear about how Obama is terrible for taking a public position on a private matter. :D

No, now he will change the subject to another straw man and then accuse Scooby of being an Obamanation or something ;)

BTW if this is true and he does come out pro marriage equality that would be a massive first step to getting the left back on his side. Time for Obama the Candidate to return...Obama the President is too weak willed and Democraty for my taste. Still probably wont vote for him since my vote doesnt matter anyways but at least I will dislike him less.

Re: 2012 Elections - Fear is the mind killer. Fear is the little death....

What is Mitt Romney's position on gay marriage this week?

Well...this week he hates it...once it is shown to be a great thing a couple years from now he will take credit for it since he was Governor of Mass who allowed Gay Marriage. As TDS pointed out, it isnt flip flopping if you just steal the credit like he did with the bailout of GM ;)

Kos picked up on something that frankly I had forgotten.

Where's the Democratic Convention this year?

Hint: oddly, neither Kenya nor Soviet Russia.

I'm going to hate myself in the morning: you really should vote, even though Ellisonland is safely blue.

You really are living in the past. There is no "Soviet Russia" anymore. Instead we have the "Free and Independent Federation of Former Soviet Slave States Yearning for a Return to their Glory Days."

And His Gutlessness canceled a scheduled non-campaign appearance in NC to deliver yet another non-campaign speech. Not exactly a profile in courage.

Yeah, someone tweeted it last night
The DNC convention is being held at BofA stadium in a right-to-work state that has banned gay marriage

I should rephrase...I am voting on everything but President. I dont support Obama or Romney and writing myself in just seems cliche :D

There are other choices, BTW.

I always ask people who won't vote for the R or D to select any third party candidate -- even at random if necessary -- just to drive the majors' net pct down.

You're being sillily technical. Obama is clearly a pro-gay President and I respect that at least he's now come out today and been more honest about his actual view on things (to respond to Priceless). I get the sense that you don't want to know what a major politician, like the President, thinks about things. While some may like that politicians dodge issues, I'm not in that camp.

Really...havent I seen you ripping people who voted for Nader because they (supposedly) helped get Dubya elected (I might be confusing you with someone else, I think Rover has done it too) even though that wasnt true and it was the backwater rules in idiotic state of Florida, along with a terrible ballot, blind old people and a candidate that was so wooden and stiff he couldnt carry his home state that did it not people who voted for the candidate they supported? I have voted third party before and while locally it makes sense on the grand stage it means little. Plus then the ideologues on both sides rip you because you arent one of their sheep.

Net % means dick. I live in a state that is going for Obama and it wont be close. Giving the Greens or Ron Paul a vote is as worthless as writing myself in thanks to the Electoral College.
