Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

These crowds are hysterical. Romney is the only guy up there who understands (well, Paul understands, but he doesn't care) that the Dems won't even need campaign ads, they can just run this footage unedited.

The crowds are less intelligent than the trained chimps on stage. Paul doesn't care cause he stands by what he said.

Are any of them not wearing a flag pin? Unpatriotic ********.

Oliver North!

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Not only would Cain negotiate with terrorists, he'd cave to their demands.

Truly amazing.

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

Well, he did say he'd "look at all the information" and that "he'd make that call if he had to" - quite a bit of qualifying.

Israel and the US aren't exactly comparable in this prisoner swap scenario to begin with given that it appears the Israelis have far more prisoners in their custody than we do (and this probably holds true even if you count the prisoners that the US has arranged to be held by foreign governments to bypass our own restrictions on various methods of torture).

Whatever happened to "We don't negotiate with terrorists"?

Re: 2012 Elections: Corndogs for everyone!

The debates are a little scary now, given the stakes, but they're going to be an incredible documentation of our times for future generations.

We're lucky the other nuclear powers don't believe in Bush's pre-emptive war philosophy, because having Perry anywhere near the button would be better justification than we had.

Catnip anyone?

You can't tell me you didn't laugh your azz off at most of these clowns. Most of the things Bachmann said were written for her days before this debate and she doesn't have the charisma to cover this up. Mitt Romney is doing his best impression of a Republican John Kerry. Santorum seems nice enough but doesn't seem to have the charisma and chutzpah it takes to be President. He doesn't have any ideas, just talking points. Rick Perry probably thanks God every night that someone as galactically stupid as Michelle Bachmann is in the race so he seems smart by comparison. Ron Paul just seems like that crazy old uncle or grandpa that says a lot of things. Some smart. Some insane. Herman Cain seems to be the most on the ball as he's actually proposing something of substance rather than "I'm going to create jobs. I'm going to cut spending. I'm going to make this happen. I'm going to make that happen." *sigh*

Edit: I FORGOT NEWT!!!! Oh well, so did the rest of America...

There's *another* debate? That's what, 60 this year? Even ignoring the fact that they're saying jacked up nonsense in order to get noticed, you're just begging to contradict yourself if you're in a debate on TV once a week for 2 farking years. Kepler's right about the Dems being handed political ad material.

He was probably too busy coming up with his 999 plan to be aware of that policy. :p

As for ad material, the ****ty economy might be the only ad material the GOP candidate needs next fall. If we don't see significant improvement in the jobs situation over the next few months, even somebody that says a bunch of stupid/nutty things for all to see could get elected. Coming out of the '92 recession, Perot got what - 20% of the vote? That wasn't a coincidence.

In bad times, voters will gravitate to whoever they believe will fix the biggest problem at the time - and right now it is the economy.
