They will play Colorado State-Pueblo. Most neutral observers are saying Mavs by 14ish. This UMD football fan is on their bandwagon and hope they finish the job!

Sounds like it could turn out that Mankato's biggest tests were in-region, though we still have to see how the title game pans out. Doesn't sound like Concord was every really in the game. Nice job Mavs! One more!

Once again SR1 proves why the rest of the nation points and laughs at them while they all wonder when they're going to get respected.

I guess it's like we always hear in the D3 hockey thread that the national tourney isn't about getting the best X number of teams, but rather a contest of regional/conference champions. Didn't see the game with Concord, but it sounds like Mankato would be threatened by a middle of the road NSIC team than the best SR1 can offer. Maybe they can just move the NSIC to SR1 and we'd have close to a guaranteed birth into the semifinals every year instead of having national semi-final/final quality games in the first rounds.

Mankato finally ran into another defense like theirs. Pueblos offense just a little bit better. Nice win.

I agree. What a great effort by their defense.

I'm thinking the Mavericks struggled coaching offensively as well yesterday. (Mainly due to how stingy the defense was)

Not having a healthy Thomas and Pfieffer hurts, but additionally, it's so late in the year no one is healthy.
