2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

You were making it sound much worse than it is.

I've driven/walked around North Minneapolis (considered the worst "area" besides the Lake St area) in day, at night, etc. Given that I'm a cracka-arse-cracka (c) Chris Rock, I'd say the Augsburg neighborhood will be okay.

All I said was that is the hood and the area has it's fair share of crime. It's not like is said it's frickin' Beirut. Lake Street and that Franklin Ave around Augsburg area are pretty sketchy, even during the day. North is still pretty shady.

This thread should cover just about everyone that i would ask so I'm in Wisconsin for the weekend, does anyone want me to bring back some New Glarus or KBC for them to have for F4?

Yes. Yes. (Widowmaker, and Spotted, in that order)

And UMD, that's my point. I've made my way around North a couple times, and no probs. Augsburg on a Sat morn is no prob. :P

It's predominantly Somali-on-Somali, and it's predominantly in the immediate vicinity of Riverside Plaza. If you don't go into the area between 20th St S/Riverside/I-94/I-35W, there's nothing really that sketchy. I've been making frequent trips to the Riverside hospital over the past month or so, regular trips to the Franklin St. Taco Bell and Lake Street Cub at all hours of the night over the past two years, I buy pretty much all my booze from Zipp's, and I can't say I've ever seen anything terribly sketchy.

It's gonna be 11:00am on a Saturday or so when people arrive. Walk in groups. It's not like it's South Cen, East St Lou, or Southside Chi-town.

Hey, so does anyone know if the rink can make showers available for us? I'm from Mankato so I'm not going to have a hotel room to run to, etc in between games..

I don't think the rink has facilities to make available. You'd probably have to go to the auditorium, which is the next building over. And I doubt that would be made available to us.

Time for a Puerto Rican shower: Axe, a dry towel, and a change of clothes. ;D

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

You just brought a tear to my eye...
Bad news, I just got an email this morning from the brewer giving me a full list of where I can find KBC beer in Wisconsin but he said the six-packs out there are currently on recall for a vinegary, sour taste. :( The 3 I already have fit the bill for this recall...we shall see what I find in Steven's Point, Eau Claire and Hudson...but the Guy from KBC told me if what we get tastes vinegary our sour, he will reimburse me for the 6 packs. Hopefully I get some that is tasty.

I have 3 cans of KBC in my fridge that should be good. I will bring it for you, Brent, just in case you need it.
