2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

Vadnais is close to the X, easy to get to everywhere, 20-25 minutes to either downtown, and most likely costs a lot less than Minneapolis on opening weekend for the Twins.

The Twins schedule for that weekend is, Friday @ 3:10, Saturday @ 6:10, Sunday @ 1:10 against Oakland.

Agreed, the Vadnais Heights/Little Canada is very easy to get to both the X in St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis. I would say it's a lot quicker than the 20-25 to downtown St. Paul. On the north side, I'd say it's one of the best for getting to both downtowns.

The NE Metro is a great area. Less traffic, easy to get around, how many parts of the Twin Cities can you get to either Downtown in less than a half hour? The Frozen Four's in St. Paul! Why would you want to go to Murderapolis if you don't have to! :D;)

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I just got the confirmation that I can get time off for the FF. It looks like most hotels near the Xcel are booked. Any recommendations ? I'd like to stay within half hour to 45 minutes from the arena.
When do the twinkies open the season? are they home during the FF?

I can't vouch for the place, but there is a Fairfield Inn & Suites in Mendota Heights that is very centrally located. It's about 1/2 mile from St. Thomas Arena (if that's where the posters game ends up being), it's less than 3 miles from the Airport & Mall of America, and it's about 15 minutes from downtown St. Paul. Any place around there might be a good place to look (Eagan is close by too).

Hastings in 20-25 minutes from The X... There are 3 hotels and a motel down here... I would like to play in the Poster's game again!!! After 22 months of unemployment and an accident which caused a broken back, nexk, and fractured facial bones--I am ready to "skate" again... I didn't see any sign up info, did I miss it???

It's time to man-up or woman-up, as the case may be!

Important: Registering is not a binding commitment. We are just assembling a list of all those who have an interest in the event.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I'll kick this off.

Definite (unless I pull or break something again before game day)
Any skater position - although I guess I am less bad as forward since I suck so badly at backward skating, in fact let's say right wing since my backhand is so weak at getting the puck off the boards and I'm way too slow for center.
I'm also responsible for on site organization and ice time rental.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I'm in... Any position is fine... I am such a bad skater... I sent in "D", but after reading 331's post, maybe a wing would be better(since backwards is NOT in my playbook)...

I put you down for D/F. When things get more settled/more people registered you can decide based on ability, etc.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I sent a probable note- it will be D, if I can be that way.

And I can be both light color with an M on it, or dark color with an Idaho on it. I've had to do that before, to make sure the numbers are even.

My big issue is getting my stuff there, and I have had 2 notes to bring them up, and I can still bring them on an airplane.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

I can participate as a water boy. And as water boy, I plan on doing it Russian roulette style, 12 bottles of water, 3-4 bottles of vodka, you don't know which is which. :)

Still deciding if I should play, I might have a date with a barstool at that time.

Re: 2011 Posters' Game - St Paul

alfablue dot uscho at gmail dot com. :)

I'd like to play, especially since it's a highlight of being in St. Paul- one of the main tourist attractions.
Sent you an email.

My dad and I are driving to St. Paul

I'm in for sure. Will serve as a photographer. If any players would like, I would be happy to take pics with their cameras. When I did this in Denver, I usually snapped 5-6 pics per camera's turn, and kept a rotation going.
