2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

Strangely, I don't feel the need to drink to forget this one. Detroit, with a little luck, did almost all they could after spotting the Sharks the 3-0 lead. The biggest thing for me in these playoffs, was that I think Howard finally solidified himself as the goalie of the near future. I think I can now justify Kenny giving him that raise before the offseason.

Of course, the fact that I have work in nine hours probably has something to do with staying sober too.

I agree with this. All of this.

Jimmy was a basket case for the Griffins. Get two goals on him, and the third one was guaranteed. And the fourth. And any more that they left him in for. He's really calmed down and turned his game around in the NHL.

Sadly in this series, Niemi played just as well. *ing Finnish goaltenders. ;) :(

Subtle, yet effective:

I don't care what Pierre McGuire says... David Krejci is not Boston's version of Pavel Datsyuk.

Still... Wings fans will find some way to blame Jimmy and try to hang him from that Apollo statue.

I for some reason enjoy that the series winning goal was by Marleau.

Apropos of nothing....reading this thread's title made me remember that I've wanted to comment on the NHL's commercials this year. They're not as good as last year's. They're not bad, but I do remember last year's commercials making me tear up a little.

What, you didn't tear up when Cooke got his face smashed? I know I did! ;)

Bingo. The haters will take the glass half-full approach and say, "Well, he still let in a couple softies, so that 2.50 GAA and .923 SV% doesn't prove anything."

Found a different angle of Franzen's vicious slash on Thornton. Clearly it was no dive:

Not sure how you can blame him for last night, PP goal and a turnover for the first 2, don't seem like they were his fault

You haven't read the irrational thoughts of the LetsGoWings.com board, have you?

I'll save you some time. Don't. It's like Hockey's Future's Boards, but only 98% Red Wings Fans.

I think at one point they wanted to trade Franzen and Howard to the Blues for Conklin.
Then they wanted Howard waived and trade a couple guys for Ellis.
F2B&G, what else have I missed?
