OMG. Genius.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

San Jose is at the conference final stage for the third time in their history, all occuring within the past seven seasons. Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are the only Sharks to suit up in all of them.

Really, CBC? You clearly don't spend enough time on the USCHO fan forum.

Two numbers: 15590 and 16500

One is the average attendance for Tampa since they joined the league, the other is Bruins attendance since Tampa joined the league. Guess which is which.

You just don't get it. When northern fanbases skip out on their awful teams because their ownership sucks, it shows that they're good, discerning hockey fans. When southern fanbases do the same, it's because they've never seen snow and they should move that team to Winnipeg.

True, I always forget that.

Two more numbers: 3 and 4

One is the average finish in their division for the Bruins since Tampa joined the league, and the other is Tampa's. Again, you can probably see what point I'm trying to make.

I'm pretty sure the Bruins would have a much higher average if they got to play in the Southleast division too. :p

The Thrashers may be my second favorite team, but at this point, I'll drive down to help them move if they'll give me a couple game worn jerseys. :p The ownership has hamstrung this team into me not really caring about them staying anymore.

Huh, I thought 3 was a higher position than 4.

Re: 2011 NHL Playoffs III: History Will Be Made

I think at one point they wanted to trade Franzen and Howard to the Blues for Conklin.
Then they wanted Howard waived and trade a couple guys for Ellis.
F2B&G, what else have I missed?

The classics from the last couple of years:

-"Player X" is lazy and he sucks
-Trade for Kaberle?
-Shea Weber to Detroit, Get 'er Done Kenny!
-Let's Talk About Officiating...
-Every thread on the subject of Detroit needing an enforcer EVER

In all fairness, not everyone there is nuts. Just 60-70% of them. :p

Two numbers... 83.5% for Tampa and 88.7% for Boston.

Percentages mean a whole lot more.

And if we really want to mess with numbers...Tampa's ticket prices are significantly lower, yet they drew a lower percentage of fans. Boston has higher prices (significantly! $40 vs $175 for this round of the playoffs for cheapest seats) yet has a higher percentage!
