2011-2012 North Dakota Offseason Thread

Re: 2011-2012 North Dakota Offseason Thread

Very disappointing indeed. I'm glad to see Hakstol take the appropriate action and suspend the "leaders" on the team for the first game. There was also this nugget from Goon's Article...

Hopefully that gets the team's attention right now, and for the rest of the season. We will be severely crippled in that game against UAA, but hopefully our underclassmen show our captains some leadership out on the ice and play well.

Again, very disappointing. Hopefully they have learned and this lights a fire under the captains to not only lead the team appropriately, but play top notch hockey throughout the season.
Sounded like it was the annual rookie party. Better shut the program down.

Why didn't Lucia suspend Haula for his drunken episode of peeing in the street?

I don't know. Also, I don't know what all the Whiouxsies did to rate this one. Usually a drunken party in GF is worthy only of a "well done" unless cop car doors are opened, false ID is presented, elevators are peed in, or lawn mowers are tossed. ;)

Re: 2011-2012 North Dakota Offseason Thread

I think the players being suspended is at least partially related to NDSU's petition incident and all the bad publicity they have received by not suspending their players. Faison/Hakstol didn't want UND to get that same bad publicity so they came out and pre-emtively suspended the leaders of the team.

That might explain the captains, but I don't think it covers the team probation or the alcohol class. Those smell of something more out of control.

Which is pretty funny, oh no college kids were drinking at a party. :)

Maybe it was a party that resembled "Bachelor Party"

Re: 2011-2012 North Dakota Offseason Thread

But as Gopher fans are so found of reminding us, UND players are getting arrested and/or in trouble with the police all the time. Given this, it seems like if anything out of control had happened at this party the cops would've had no problem arresting/citing players.

I think after Frattin's DUI Hak got fed up with all the shenanigans his players were involved in and started being more strict with what was occurring with his players. It wasn't that this party was out of control crazy, it was that the supposed leaders of the team "sponsored" a party where they almost certainly provided underage players with alcohol. That in combination with the PR disaster NDSU is experiencing and that this party came so soon after Jim and Parks were cited for Minors is what I think lead to this punishment.

Sounds likely

Why would they need hookers? They're hockey heroes right? Well if Lammy was there someone would have get paid to lay that ugly sob.
Private party...puck bunnies don't keep their mouths shut. They at least had to try to keep it quiet. :)

Speaking of ugly men, thank God UMTC saved this troll from guarding bridges the rest of his life:

An inside source said the party was in celebration of Dick Stewart dying. "Ding Dong Dick is Dead" was what the invitations said. I must say I approve.

My sources said it was a going away party for the Beer Grandma.

You obviously need to get some new sources. Relying on a guy who has literally peed in the corner of your bedroom is never a good plan.

I think he was just emulating his favorite hockey team. It really has little to do with his reliability as my source.

Well if you are satisfied with having a terrible source who isn't house trained, I guess I can't stop you. Go right ahead and continuing being lost in the world.
