Re: 2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs: Mega Sharks, Giant Octopus, Sid's Stache and Other Horrors
Regarding last night, yes, I was referring to the Lidstrom broken stick as bad luck (though help me, wasn't there another important Wings game in the recent era in which a broken stick led to the game-winning breakaway goal?)
It's also wildly ironic, because Mickey Redmond talks nearly every game about the evils of the composite stick.
I really don't think the Wings are in big, big trouble. The Shark Tank is a tough place to play, and the Wings lost two one-goal games. Either one could have gone Detroit's way with a few breaks. Further, with last change in Detroit, I think Detroit can be a little more effective against Pavelski's line.
In other Western Conference news, I think the Blackhawks' anthem guy is stupid. He's basically screaming into the mic, and because all the idiots are applauding, he just screams louder. The Flyers are better, and when you're getting beat by a duet in which one of the two women singing is dead and both are doing a completely different song, that's pretty sad.
Meanwhile, it's now 2-0 Vancouver. Everyone keeps asking if the Wings are in trouble, well, it's not nearly as much as Chicago is in: they've completely sucked for 65 minutes at home and are down 7-1 on aggregate.
