B's now with just over $54 million committed to next season with 10 forwards, six defensemen and two goalies. If Joe Colborne makes the team, add another $1.1 million to that. Next season also has Bergeron, Ryder, Sturm and Chara in the final years of their contracts with Zach Hamill and Brad Marchand in the final year of their entry level deals.
The cap is either going to be $56 or $58 million. I sense that Michael Ryder could end up being bought out to free up a little extra space if he can't be shuttled off elsewhere.

This whole "Don't Call ****" switch in officiating that happens in the SCF every year is starting to get old. It's a 3rd set of rules for hockey, after regular season and playoff.
When you have Detroit and Pittsburgh matching up, it just looks like a pair of Mr. Magoo's in charge of the most important series of the year, because the difference isn't all that great.
Throw teams like Anaheim and Philadelphia into the finals and you get all the Senator and Blackhawk fans convinced that a league that normally can't find its own arse with a GPS and a map is somehow fixing a series in a way that the Las Vegas bookies aren't catching on to, which might be the only thing more absurd than the officiating.
The fact that Bufuglyien (sp) is terrified of going near the crease when Pronger's on the ice now is funny as heck, though. One PP last night, I think his idea of screening the goalie was closer to the slot than the blue ice.

Watching the 1970-71 Leafs hammer the Dead Things on NHL Network. 8-0 Toronto in the 3rd.
Oh for the good old days when the Leafs were good and Detroit wasn't, despite having Howe, Delvecchio and Mahovlich in their lineup!

Howe was 42, Delvecchio had just turned 40 and the Big M was only 33.
Jacques Plante started in goal for Toronto - he was 2 weeks shy of his 42nd birthday.

Don't understand why teams aren't more aggressive going after Pronger when he has the puck. If you give him that time, he's gonna go tape to tape with someone or he'll wind up and put one on goal.
