Re: 2010 Laura Hurd Award
You do 90% of the time, Derek well done.

Try winning with a little bit of class, eh? How many goals did you score for Elmira this year again?
I believe he scored 7 goals, genetically speaking.
Tee Hee...
What's really uncharacteristic is that I was only in the penalty box for 8 minutes this year...
haha that's because debus has taken it upon herself to unload any team frustrations and spend 42 minutes in the box, which I believe are mostly for checking!!! must admit love watching that kid play though, man she is a beast on the ice.
Congrats to Iwachiw Laura Hurd winner 2010 and to the other four finalists. Another great year of DIII hockey.
Nice to see a goalie finally win it!
Ya typo sorry it's Paddy Ginnell. Ginnell was one of the most feared hockey coaches that ever stood behind the bench in the Western Hockey league. His trademark Black Cowboy hat and rough exterior struck the fear in many freshman along the way. His most infamous act was tearing all his clothes off on the bench and tossing them on the ice when he disputed a ref's call and couldn't convince the ref to come to his bench to discuss it. He was IMO one of the best defensive minded coaches there ever was.
Paddy Ginnell's coaching career spanned 15 seasons in the Western Hockey League, serving as Head Coach of the Flin Flon Bombers, Victoria Cougars, Lethbridge Broncos, Medicine Hat Tigers and New Westminster Bruins. Ginnell finished his WHL career third all time in most games coached, 963 and games won, 518. The highlight of his coaching career was leading the Flin Flon Bombers to back to back WHL Championships in 1968-69 and '69 – 70, a team that included future Philadelphia Flyer superstars Bobby Clarke and Reggie Leach.
Ginnell, who passed away in June 2004, was named WHL Coach of the Year four times between 1970 and 1975
RIP Paddy...
In memory of Paddy Ginnell.
The Playfairs' lived in our neighbourhood during Jim's run with the Flames. To say that this is a little out of character is certainly an understatement. Jim is normally quiet, low key and a soft spoken individual. Ironically like Paddy, Jim Playfair is a brilliant defensive coach and obviously very emotional about the game of hockey. The real irony here however is the fact that the ref in this particular game is Jamie Koharski, son of another infamous ref... Don, of "Have another donut!" fame.
