2010 DII Football

It wasn't pretty, and Bearcat fans will cry home cooking, especially on that spot there on the fourth down play, but the Bulldogs are going back to Alabama.
I think the spot was correct after the review, he had the ball in front of him when he caught it and his back foot was at the 45 (he was facing the line of scrimmage for those not watching). Anyway, they can blame turnovers and not stopping the run for losing. Go Dogs!

Heehee Faucet State :D I agree here. Who knew having nothing but two good running backs would win for you?
Our best one was on the sideline too! Also, the defense deserves as much credit as the backs, they were spectacular. Did anyone else catch, when they showed the graph of schools with the most D2 titles, that they put the Sioux logo with North Dakota State? Smooth CBS.

Yeah, I agreed with their call on the replay. What I'm saying is that Bearcat fans might have a few accusations that there was a homer call there.

That was the championship game right there. I'd be very surprised if Faucet State wins next Saturday.

Don't get cocky you guys. Your fans failed in two very important traditions when the home team wins the semifinal game. One is to tear down the goal post. Given as frozen as the field was, it would have been pretty tough to do, but an attempt should have at least been made. And secondly, you're suppost to sing "Sweet Home Alabama" after you yank the sucker. Not "Sweet Caroline." After you get a round or two of "Alabama" out, then break out other stuff. But the Shoals committee perfers you to sing "Sweet Home Alabama".

Damage University property in front of University Police Department members? Good call there...

Re: 2010 DII Football

How do they expect us to throw hotdogs at the gophers with that [Expletive deleted] net in front of us?

Ironic!

I would explain that line, but it would take too long. :D

The University doesn't own the DECC and individual hotdogs (even frozen) wouldn't damage anything other than someone's pride. My point was that UMD tends to overreact to student celebrations and I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to levy destruction of property charges in a "taking down the goal posts" situation.

Tell that to Homer!

It was a "Bun-less" hotdog toss and hockey players were helmets with face protection. Regardless, this action could/would be assault. I know you went to UND, but you should know the difference because one of your hockey players is typically charged with one of these annually. :D

Ummm, no. We're drunks. Your school is the one who had a recruit beat the snot out of his girlfriend.

Hell, most schools usually let people take down the goalpost, because it always makes for a good news clip. At GVSU, they let the students take out the one in front of the student section. NWMSU usually takes out both of theirs.

Besides, are they really going to arrest you all?? ;)

Yeah but we dumped him. You keep the drunks for whatever reason.

Should be a good game this weekend. Is Delta State even that good?

Re: 2010 DII Football

Tough win for UMD, but they got it done when they had to. Both spot reviews by the officials I believe turned out correctly. Seemed like the officials did a good job in difficult conditions. Of course I was sitting here in 80 degrees and sunny Arizona watching the game on Saturday!

It was funny to hear the officiating crew was from Texas. Tough assignment!

Work with me here Biddy Biddy Lo Liddy Banana Fanana Fo Fiddy. UND players don't assault others as Heiz suggested.

Delta is known as the Big 3 in the Gulf South, meaning if you wanna win the conference, most likely you need to beat them along with North Alabama and Valdosta State. GVSU played them back in 2006 in Allendale in a semifinal matchup, in a balmy 40 degree weather. They were pretty decent then, and the rep they have is that they're pretty well coached. Either way, in a championship game, you can't really take the other team lightly. At this point, either team could win the game.

Thing with Delta that they would be a lot more balanced than what UMD is, and can easily air it out, and I think they'll try to rush the pace of the game. Either way, Duluth generating drives and keeping the Bulldog D off the field is the best thing that they can do to get another NC win.
