Oops. Forgot about that. Area around the arena is swarming. This is a good thing!

The aliens have shown up so far. Cruddy goal. Not as impressed with bc as ithought I should be. If this is loaded for bear then the bear shouldn't be too scared

Settle down...

They are playing down to their opponents like they usually do. And let's get real, this is BC in January, always a very different team come March - you know this, you're not new around here. For weeks now this specific team has looked like they've just been toying with teams. I don't know how they look tonight but the games I've seen since the new year ... that's how I would describe it.

Sloppy. that is how they looked. After seeing that they were the next coming splashed everywhere, I expected more. Some junk goals. Esp the one where our goalie passed it to thier guy who slammed it home.

On the positive side Boo played generally OK. They didn't score on the two 5 on 3 chances. There were chances. Until the last few minutes it was possible to believe.

The Lowell PP was brutal tonight. BC gave them plenty of chances but they could do nothing with the PP. No surprise that Boulanger got the start after last weekend, and he played well. That second goal was a tough one. Is there anything wrong with Carr? He wasn't dressed tonight, Massie was the only back up. A great crowd tonight, I just wished they had more to cheer about.

Boulanger did all he could tonight and I agree that the Lowell PP was awful. A big FU to the BC fans in section 114 or 115. Your #1 or #2 team are playing the last placed team in Hockey East, and one of the worst teams in the Country, and you do the "Low, lower, lowest, Lowell" chant? Eat a bag of dicks you clowns.

Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

Tonight may have been one of the most unfortunate nights in Division I hockey for UML.

It started out well, the doors were opened early, all six ticket windows open, adequate food and staff ready and waiting. I liked the idea of a 7:15 PM faceoff, giving people extra time to walk around the arena, find seat, get food/refreshment, etc. Off the ice, this was a D-I game. On the ice, it was a different story, especially the 2nd and 3rd periods.

I had a group of UML alums and co-workers from work that immediately noticed the our typical dump and chance and us not getting to the puck and our pass, pass, pass power play. Some of these people never have seen a game.

The frustrating point for me was despite the BC goal in the first, it wasn't a bad period. What is mindboggling is how you can play an exciting, upbeat tempo in the first, go to the locker room, then lay an egg for the final two periods in front of 6,488 which I'm sure is in the top five in Tsongas Arena history. After Boulanger's miscue for the second BC goal, that was it for the River Hawks. In fairness to him, if he had defenseman that actually skated to the puck to try to ward off the BC attacker, he wouldn't have to go out and play that puck. We still simply can't score against the big teams, whether if it's a freshmen-laden team or a senior one (re: last year). They had numerous chances to tie this game before things got out of hand. Our PP was dreadful and the 5:00 major was embarassing.

I'm watcing the telecast of UVM/MC. I'll tell you one thing, if that team stays relatively intact, it's going to be two to three years before we catch them. The irony is a Merrimack win or tie next week mathematically eliminates us from home ice.

They were the most unimaginative student block we have had sit around us in awhile. These kids couldn't even chant the right pronounciation for Boulanger. They chanted the same thing, over and over. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz. They may go to a great school (and will be paying off their loans as they approach retirement :p) but Northeastern much more creative and funny.

they'd prefer the great school rather then the funny, creative chants:p

You sit over there? My condolences. The visiting team fans have been sitting in 120 or 121 this season (I sit in 118). Any reason why the Tsongas people put them back over your way?

I'm still very ticked off about the BC clowns. Make fun of the goalie (if you can pronounce his name!) and do your chants but the low, lower, lowest thing was uncalled for. Does Lowell really get under the skin of BC fans? I hope so as this team is only going to get better in the next few years.

The season has come to this: "Go Merrimack!"

I forgot to add that Wey deserved the 5 minute major and game misconduct he received for that reckless hit on Vallorani.

Stop getting butt hurt over some chants.

We would do (and have done) the same thing given the opportunity, regardless if the opponent was nationally ranked or bottom of the league. The fact that this teams stinks on ice is clouding your memory.

Which student section are you talking about, because you just described Lowell's to a T. The only cheers the current student section know are U-M-L and Let's Go Lowell. Well, unless you add in that fat idiot sitting near the glass who took it upon himself to start a "bulls**t" chant every time a penalty was called on Lowell, even when it was an obvious one. The school should hand out rule books to some of these idiots, they're embarrassing to have in the building. I would rather have a half empty student section than one filled with yeah kid!, natty ice bro!, hawkey is awesome dood!, know nothing morons.

I agree, the first period was great for Lowell. They were getting pucks to the net and putting pressure on the BC defense which was causing turn overs. The BC defense looked very suspect at times. After that it seemed like one bad PP after another.

Lowell also needs to get more physical. How many times did a BC player skate through center ice right between a couple of UML players without being touched. Lowell tried that and Arnold almost had his head taken off.

Interesting stat that I saw over in the BC thread.
the 3 seniors ended up 6-5-1 vs UML in their four years........that with a sweep this year. i know they are always tough but that surprised me, 3-5-1 going into this year

Unimpressed with an opponent who came into your sold-out building and beat you by four goals? Yikes.

Boy, lucky you didn't go to Brown (as if). You'd love the "if its Brown, flush it down" chant. The Lowest, Lowell chant seems funny and equally appropriate. Carry on.
