2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

I understand all that but were you at the game? There was no atmosphere at all. I have been to High School games that were better than what I saw on Tuesday night.

I think you need more than seven people to have atmosphere.

Can you believe the announced attendance was 1,700 or so? What a joke. There was maybe a thousand people there.

My high school had better atmosphere at the Peabody MDC rink back in the late '80s!

I thought 500-750. Maybe there was 1,000 people up in "the chancellors suite"!

Marty's suite was dark on Tuesday but I was happy to see the old guy (Lowell Tech grad!) who sits across the aisle from me. I know he was a regualr at Tulley back in the day. His wife knits during the game and he gets all fired up!

Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

Like just about every school or professional team, the attendance is based on tickets sold, not bodies in the stands. That said, I think the crowd was actually decent considering the competition and fact that the team hasn't given the students or university community much to cheer about this season.

Massie should have never been left in that game and I hope that's the last we see of him for some time. Carr and Boulanger obviously will split the rest of the season.

Anyone have any word on Soup? Is he coming back at all this season?

I was screaming for Massie to get pulled but I understood what Blaise was doing. Boulanger should start on Saturday. I have no insight on Soup and it sucks that he has missed so many games this season.

The hope is February at some point. He reinjured himself when he was trying to come back, or so I've heard.

Boulanger does deserve the start with how he played against BC last week.

Add in the fact that it was a Tuesday night and it was freezing outside didn't help either. Many of the season ticket holders around me didn't even show. I think UML should avoid these week night games if at all possible. People just don't seem to come out for them.

The school didn't even set up the merchandise stand for the game.

I'm thoroughly convinced this year went downhill when there was no fried dough being sold. The fans, the players, even recruits were beyond disappointed, and that just hasn't left the program.

Where did the merch stand go with the hockey related stuff?*

Absolutely 100% DISAGREE

Reason is no cookies. We need the karma back - or whatever they put in those things.

That's a good point!

BTW not Lowell related at all, but for those that haven't read it, a pretty interesting story about Andrew Glass' dismissal from the BU program. Makes you wonder a bit (OK, a lot) about what was actually going on there.

Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

FYI, no seats left for Saturday's game left. Standing room only.

UML basketball plays Southern Connecticut in Costello at 4pm on Saturday, a good doubleheader if anyone is interested. :D

Good thing I grabbed my four tickets first thing this morning.

THat is interesting. I wonder what the real story is. Where is the thread about Jackie controlling the weather? He couldn't control the media. Is this a chink in the armor :D
